A few days had passed since our Hogsmede trip, Christmas Eve was now upon us. The burrow had been decorated very vividly. It was rather enjoyable being away from Hogwarts, no stress, no studying for O.W.L exams, no hiding behind pillars or walls when I saw Scorpius approaching me. Yes, things between him and I were still as awkward as ever, it's beginning to get worse. Lexi is making her appearances more often, she always seems nice and lovely to everyone else, but she is giving me cold stares, I get the feeling she doesn't like me. Sophia tells me that she was probably just angry that Scorpius dated me soon after their break up and she is trying to make me feel jealous by showing how easy she can get him back, I do agree with her. I'd do anything to help Sophia at the moment, Eliza and Albus's relationship had left Sophia's heart in knots, she can't be in the same room with them for more than five minutes before walking away and resisting the urge not to cry.
Anyways, I shouldn't be thinking about all this sad things when it's CHRISTMAS. Merlin, Christmas is the best at the burrow. The joyful atmosphere, the amazing aroma of gingerbread biscuits, it makes Christmas most enjoyable.
"Rose?" Dominique began shaking me out of my thoughts, "Rosie?" I snapped back into reality, "huh?" I said still staring at the floor, "Grandma Molly wanted me to tell you that she's ready to make the biscuits if you are." Dominique said sitting next to me, I looked up at my red-head cousin, "alright, I'll go now then." I said standing up, "you alright?" She said as she moved the dark red and blue ends of hair out of her face, "yeah, I'm fine." I said beginning to walk out of the bedroom, Dominique looked at me as if she didn't believe me, but she didn't bring back the subject.
"Merry Christmas." Lucy greeted me as I ran down the stairs, "Merry Christmas." I said giving her a smile, "what time did you arrive?" I asked my older cousin, "about half an hour ago." She said pushing her black circular glasses up her nose, "Grandma Molly has been asking for you." She said with a smile, "I know, she in the kitchen?" I asked pointing to the door behind me, "yeah." She said beginning to tie up her long wavy brunette hair into a large bun, I nodded and walked over to the large wooden door.
"Merry Christmas." I said with a smile as I walked into the warm smell of the kitchen, "Merry Christmas." About five voices said in sync, "Merlin's beard, is this a party or something." I said beginning to roll my sleeves up, "no we just wanted to see what Grandma Molly was cooking." Lily said with a grin, "I was just coming in from outside and I smelled cinnamon so I came in here." Roxanne said with a similar grin to Lily's, I nodded and tied up my hair into a ponytail.
"So what are we baking?" I said as I walked over to my Grandmother, "well I think you could start on the treacle fudge whist I finish off the cinnamon and gingerbread biscuits." I nodded and walked over to the sink to wash my hands, I then walked over to cupboards and began grabbing the ingredients.
"I love baking the muggle way." I said with a smile as I mixed the ingredients together, "me too." Molly said returning a kind smile, "can I help too Grandma Molly." Hugo said with his large brown eyes bright, "sure, you can start on the Christmas pudding." Hugo smiled enthusiastically and ran over to the cupboards and hurriedly grabbed the proper equipment and ingredients. What a strange thirteen year old, I thought with a smirk.
Whilst the treacle fudge was baking in the oven, I walked over to cupboards and grabbed the ingredients for the treacle tart. I glanced over to Hugo and snorted when I saw him and Grandma Molly laugh about how he had spilled over the flour. I returned to my working space and started to prepare the pastry.
About three hours had passed and we had finished all of the baking for the party. "Come on kids, let's take these into the tent." Grandma Molly said whipping out her wand, Hugo and I retrieve our wands and we all began to levitate the plates into the tent, "Louis, Victoire, Molly come and help." I shouted into the living room, the three of them walked into the kitchen and began levitating plates off all sorts of cuisine into the large blue gazebo.
