Edith ran in the cold with nothing but her sleepwear, her only source of light was the moon as she ran around the house to begin to run for help.
She tried to remain quiet as she ran, trying to ignore the chill on her face when she began to hear faint screaming from inside the house.
"HELP ME!" she heard Casey screaming from inside the house.
Edith stopped running and listened to the screaming to see where her sisters screams were coming from.
"HEELLP!!!" Casey screamed.
Edith looked towards the basement door "Casey!" Edith whispered, running towards the basement doors.
The door to the basement was locked, she huffed as she banged her hands against the door as she tried to figure out a way to get into the basement.
Edith looked around the wooded area as she found a large stick sitting a few feet away from the house; she ran towards it and picked it up, she tried to find a decent way to hold it as she looked at the door and prayed this plan worked.
She ran after the door with the small branch ready to strike the door; she hit it once but only managed to put a small dent in the door.
"Shit!" Edith muttered, now taking the tree branch and repeatedly hitting the door, hoping that somehow the lock would become unhinged and she could save her sister before the mystery killer got to her.
Edith grunted with every thrust, she kept hitting the door hard and harder with each desperate attempt when the door sprung open and dangled above the staircase into the basement.
She sighed with relief as she tossed the branch aside and slowly walked down the stairs as she listened out for her sister who was now shallowly breathing.
"Casey?" she asked in the dark.
"Edie?" Casey asked.
Edith rushed down the stairs then running into a storage shelf before finding her balance again.
"Edie, there's a flash light on the shelf that you just ran into." Casey said softly.
Edith felt around for the flashlight in the dark as she finally felt the cold and heavy flashlight before grabbing it and turning it on.
She faced it in front of her where Casey was sitting on the floor, tied up with electrical wiring against a pole.
"Casey, oh my god!" Edith whispered, hurrying to her sister as she knelt before her.
"Who did this to you?" Edith asked.
Casey shook her head "No! You can't be here, we don't have time for this! You have to go now!" Casey told her younger sister.
Edith shook her head "No, I'm not going to leave you here! Dad's dead and I'm pretty sure mom isn't doing any better. I found you and we're going to get out of here together." She insisted.
Casey shook her head again "No, you don't understand! He's here! He keeps coming down here asking me where you are and what you're doing. If he finds you, he's going to hurt you!" she said.
"Who is he?" she asked.
Casey bit her bottom lip "Keith." She whispered.
They both heard the door open from inside the house to the basement, the two sisters began to panic as the basement light was turned on and footsteps began climbing down the steps.
"Hide!" Casey whispered, turning to make sure that 'he' hadn't shown up yet while Edith stood up and ran to a corner, hiding in between two tables and out of sight from everything and everyone.
The footsteps reached the bottom of the basement and the room went cold, Edith pushed herself farther in between the tables and up against the wall as she tried to see what was going on.
"You sure you don't know where she is?" a man's voice asked.
Casey shook her head "No. If she's smart, and she is, she's already out of this house and running for help. You're screwed." She whispered.
Edith covered her mouth as she continued to listen, no longer trying to see who the mystery man was.
The man chuckled "I don't think so missy…I'll find her. And she'll pay for leaving me." He said.
"You pushed her off a bridge, you fucking psycho! She doesn't know who you are anymore, so why are you still going after her!?" Casey asked, beginning to tear up.
The man hit Casey; Edith closed her eyes as she continued to cover her mouth; hoping that nothing serious happened.
"She could come back at any time…better take care of it now before this all gets out of hand." The man said.
Casey took in a deep breathe "You'll pay." She said softly.
The man chuckled again "No, I won't." he said, got back up the stairs and towards the back of the house; he turned off the light and shut the door behind him.
Edith climbed out from beneath the tables and turned the flash light back on "Are you alright?" she whispered.
Casey nodded "It's not the first time he's hit me tonight." She admitted.
Edith nearly pouted as she looked at her sister, whose nose was bleeding from the hit that the man gave her.
"What happened with him?" Edith asked.
Casey shook her head "No, It's best if you don't know!" she told her sister.
Edith huffed "Fine! Then I'll just go figure it out myself!' she said, standing up in front of her sister.
Casey whined "Please don't tell me that meant what I think it meant!" she said, looking down at her toes.
"I'm gonna stop him." Edith insisted.
"He'll kill you in a heartbeat!" Casey protested.
Edith pointed the flash light at her sister "I have to at least try! If this were a horror movie—"
"This isn't a horror movie, Edith! This is real life! You could die!" Casey remarked, pulling at her restraints.
Edith shook her head as she walked to the stairs and quietly began to climb up them before she reached the door; she reached for the door knob and gently tried to turn it, but the door was locked.
"Fuck!" Edith muttered, going down the stairs and staring at her sister who gave her a 'you should listen to me' look.
Edith shook her head as she walked to the staircase she came in from "I'll be back for you." She said, going up the stairs and running towards the broken door.
Casey shook her head "I've heard that before." She remarked, watching her sister leave the house.
