"Luke, I'm scared. Will you love me for eternity?" Katie asks in a soft and weak voice, always attempting to look strong for us both.
"Our undying love is meant to last in perpetuity," I say with a small smile as I gently place my hand over one of her cold and pale ones.
Why does this happen to people who do not deserve to be in a vulnerable state like this? I ask myself this question every day and still, I do not know the answer to it.
