I stood, out of breath, on the roof of a car as the sound of the dead began to get deafening; the herd surrounding me only getting larger.

I took out the clip of my hand gun, inspecting it, praying that there was at least a few bullets left, but to my dismay, I was completely out.

Tears began to flow down my cheeks as the ear piercing screams, of the people I was once with, kept replaying in my head over and over again. I never thought this is how it would all end-- that this is how I would die; alone and afraid without a fighting chance.

I thought the heat was causing me to hallucinate when I swore I heard a voice in the distance, my head immediately shooting up as I desperately looked around; praying for a miracle.

"Hey!" I heard again, causing my head to spin in the direction of which the voice came from; a van in the distance.

I watched as one guy got out of the passenger side, running behind a building before the van backed in closer to the herd and began blasting it's horn, immediately catching the attention of the dead.

As the herd began thinning out and following the loud van away from where I was trapped, I looked behind me to see the man from before crouched beside one of the buildings.

He then ran in my direction, stabbing the few walkers left before beckoning for me to come off of the car.

"Come on, we need to get out of here before that horn drives more of them in!" He yelled, running back to the side of the building as I followed closely behind.

I had no idea who this stranger was and I didn't feel like it was the right time to ask, but I felt like he was giving me a second chance at life right now.

We quickly made it around the building, the driver of the van soon seeing us and speeding up to where we stood, allowing us to get in.

I then got in the back, the unknown man closing the door behind me before getting in through the passenger side.

I desperately tried to catch my breath, wanting to thank the people who saved me, until I raised my head to see a gun pointed right at it.

I apologize for this first chapter being pretty short, but I just really liked this stopping point; kinda sets the whole vibe.

I'm super excited to be writing another book for you guys and I hope you enjoy it as much as you did the last one.
