As it began getting dark, we all started heading back to the houses we stayed in. I surprisingly felt welcome here, even though some people were still very wary of a complete stranger invading their town.

"Liz!" I heard a voice call out, causing me to look to my left, Carol waving me over.

I quickly jogged over to where she stood, holding a Tupperware container, "Since this is your first night here, in a place like this, I wanted you to have a good meal to snack on whenever you want!" She smiled, handing me the container, "It's spaghetti; we have a lot of noodles here."

I smiled back, laughing a bit, "Thank you so much, I actually love spaghetti!"

"I'm glad," she laughed, "You know, if you ever need anything, I'm just a house down!"

"Oh wow, that's convenient," I chuckled, "Thank you!"

She nodded and smiled again before we both went into our houses for the night.

I laid in the bed upstairs, still in shock that I'm here-- that I'm alive. All of this didn't even seem real, like it was too good to be true, and yet, here I am.
One second, I was in tears, trying to come to terms with the fact that that was it-- I was over and I wasn't going to get any farther and then.. a glimmer of hope and a warm bed.
I wish I could've shared this with Cole and Meredith, even though I knew they were trying to get rid of me.

The sun peeked through the windows and right into my face, causing me to wake up, but I wasn't too mad about it.

I got up and headed downstairs, taking the Tupperware container of spaghetti out of the fridge before finding a fork, and eating it right out of the container. I hadn't had actual food like this in so long, I couldn't even tell you when the last time was.

I then heard a knock on the door before it was slowly pushed open, "Hello?"

I smiled when I saw Rick peek his head through, "Hi." I said, continuing to shovel the spaghetti into my mouth.

"How're you settling in?" He asked, closing the door behind himself and walking into the kitchen.

"This is better then any place I've been since this whole thing started-- ten times better."

"Well, I'd have to agree with you on that," he nodded, "Honestly, we just got here a few days ago."

"All of you?" I asked confused.

"Me, Carl, Judith, Daryl, Michonne, Maggie and Glenn, Tara, Sasha, Gabriel, Rosita, Abraham, and Eugene." He named off.

"Oh.. well, where were you before?"

"A lot of places.. none as good as this one," he shook his head, "We've done a lot of things to get where we are now."

I shrugged, "No judgement here, you saved my life, I'm on your side no matter what." I smiled, earning a smile back.

"What did you used to do in your group? What was your job?" He asked, sitting on a bar stool.

"We kinda did everything together," I said, taking another bite of spaghetti, "There was only three of us for a while and we were always on the move."

"Why didn't you find a camp?"

"I wanted to but.. I don't know, they said that they wanted to go to Ohio so I just followed them." I sighed, now poking around at the noodles, "I think they were trying to get me killed the other day.. when you saved me."

Rick furrowed his eyebrows at me, "Why would they do that?"

"They weren't really great people," I shrugged, "I've been thinking about it all night though.. I think they might have just been sick of me always wanting to be more careful.. they weren't like that."

"Well," Rick sighed, "That's why you're here and they're not."

"Yeah, I guess."
