The next morning, Richard called me about 12:00pm to tell me that we would start off looking at a few apartments in his area, Manhattan Beach. I made sure that I looked on point. He had seen me at my worst the other night and I thought I would do us both a favor and show up looking right. I wanted to look business casual so I decided on a pair of skinny navy blue slacks, a white button down shirt, a chunky grey scarf, classic black pumps and a matching navy blue blazer.

When I arrived to the first complex I was impressed. It was somewhere I could definitley see myself pulling up to everyday. I saw Richards Camera parked out front. When he saw me he instantly stepped out of the car looking like he came straight off the cover of GQ. My heart started to flutter as I got out of the car to greet him.

"Good Afternoon." I smiled at him.

"Good Afternoon, Iman. How are you today?" His smile lit me up.

"I could be better. Are you ready?" I didn't feel like going into detail, I just wanted to find my new home.

"Right this way." He lead me to the front of the gated apartments and buzzed us in. He greeted the receptionist and pressed the up button on the elevator. He clicked level seven when we got inside.

"I think you'll really like this place." He smiled at me.

"How would you know what I like?" I played with him a little.

"I have spidey senses." His comment caused me to laugh.

We got up to the seventh floor within seconds and he lead me to apartment 704.

"Would you like to do the honors?" He handed me the key.

I opened the door and instantly I was greeted by a giant glass window that over looked the ocean. The dining area was huge and the living room was even bigger. I could already see my furniture.

"I think this is the one." I broke the silence.

Richard chuckled. "You haven't even seen the others."

"I don't think I want to." I walked around the two bedroom two bathroom apartment. I made my way to the master bedroom and almost fell to my knees.

"Oh my--, it's sold."

Richard started laughing again.

"Wha's so funny, go get the papers. This is my new home."

"Are you sure about this Iman, I mean?"

I cut him off before he could continue.

"Look Richard, I've been through so much during my life time, I know when I am sure. I am sure that this is my new home, and I am sure that I want to rent it. Now, if you would stop questioning me, lets get down to business."

He smiled and nodded at me and pulled out papers from his brief case and got to business. There were no other people who were looking to rent the apartment at this time so I took it as a sign. It was meant to be. I signed the legal documents and proceeded with my housing deposit and first months rent. I was so excited to start my new life. My new apartment was going to be my own personal bachelorette pad. It was my first apartment that I could call my own. This was huge. I couldn't wait to call the girls to celebrate and go shopping.
