What If (Keith x Reader)

AN: My little sister was telling a story with me verbally, so I figured I could tweak it a little bit and make it a reader insert. I think it's going to be Keith x Reader since people read those more. There will probably be another part, or multiple parts, if this goes well. Enjoy!

The paladins walked around the halls of the castle ship, finally having some time to explore. "Hey, guys! Check this room out!" Lance walked into the room, "Looks like more pods." Suddenly, one of them rose from its spot and opened. You fell out and hit the floor, "Ow." Lance pulled you off the ground, "Hello there. The name-"

"Lance." You stood up and took your hands out of his, looking at the rest of the room's occupants, "Keith, Hunk, Takashi Shirogane, and, uh..." You looked down at the small one dressed in green, "Are you Pidge Gunderson or Katie Holt?"

"Oh, I go by Pidge here," they looked around at their friends nervously. "And I'm Shiro," said who-would-now-be-called Shiro.

"Ah, so," Lance wrapped his arm around your shoulder, "You've heard about the paladins of voltron?"

"Uh no. What's a voltron?"

He looked extremely confused, "Wait then how did yo-"

You tapped your left eye, "Facial recognition." You took in their blank expressions, "I'm a cyborg. Also, you must be the owners of the castle! Sorry about borrowing the pod, but we were sort of going to be killed."

"Wait you're a stowaway?!" Keith glared at you and reached for his bayard. "We?" Lance asked at the same time.

"Oh, yeah!" You skipped over to the pod next to yours. It came up and opened, causing a small figure to fall out. You caught her in your arms. She opened her eyes and tried to punch you, "Aah!" You quickly blocked it, "It's me."

"Oh." She stood up, "Are these people going to kill us? I can get us out." You put your hands up, "Um no. These are Keith, Lance, Pidge, Shiro, and Hunk. Guys, this is my sister. T Lex." She had short black hair and blue markings on her face, like Allura's. Her face was tan with sparkling chocolate eyes, and she looked a little bit younger than Pidge.

"Like the dinosaur?" Pidge looked at your sister curiously, who shrugged in response. "My full name is Tatiana Lexanria, but my dear sister, Y/N here, prefers to call me T Lex."

Lance turned his head to the side and looked at you, "Y/N... Where have I heard that before?"

"I went to the Garrison..." You shrugged, "Probably, uh..." You checked your watch, "Fifty-seven years ago."

"O-oh, that means you're-" Pidge started excitedly. You bowed, smiling, "Y/N L/N at your service, the first one to successfully steal a Garrison ship and not die."

You wrapped your arm around Keith's shoulder, "Say... can I borrow your little weapon thing? I would like to practice." He glared at you, "No." You made a sad face, "Why not?" He raised his eyebrows at you, "...Because you could be a Galra spy?" You pointed to Lance, who was giving your sister his bayard, "He trusts her."

"That's because he's an idiot."

"I heard that!"

You sighed and pointed to your eye, "Stabbed out. By Galra." You gestured to your sister, "Kidnapped. By Galra." You pointed to the sky, "Parents killed. By Galra."

"You could be lying."

Your sister came up behind you, holding Lance's bayard. You quickly grabbed Keith's and ran out of the room, your sister hot on your heels. "I'll give it back!" You yelled, "I just need to practice!"

The swords clanged together, producing slight sparks. You'd been sparring for about an hour. "Lex, do you need to do the thing?" She put Lance's bayard on the ground, "Yeah." She crossed her legs and hovered off the ground.

Lance leaned over your shoulder, "Uhh, what's she doing?"

"Meditating." You lay down on the floor, "Not sure if you heard, but she was kidnapped by the Galra."

Lance sat down next to you and looked at Keith, who was guarding the door, "Get down here, mullet. She's telling a story." Keith sighed and sat down on the floor.

"We were from Earth, yeah. Well, I was, but I stole the ship from the Garrison when I was thirteen and left the planet. I was found by her family's ship, and it looked just like this one. Because it was Altean. They took me in and that is where I met Lex. Although Altea was destroyed thousands of years ago, a small group escaped. Lex was gifted with... special powers. Levitation, lightning, ridiculous amounts of speed. Haggar found out about her and wanted to make her a druid, so she attacked the ship. She killed all of the Altean descendants, except for her. I ran and got off the ship. The Galra destroyed it and all of the Altean supplies we had on the planet we had been staying at. I went into the mountain, where we had stored our spare supplies in case of an emergency. There was one extra pod there, so I took it. Long story short, I broke into the ship, lost an eye, got captured, turned into a cyborg, was rescued by my sister, we left in a pod, and I searched for any other signs of Altean energy. Then we found this ship, came in through the side, went into the pods, and huzzah! Here we are now." You sat up, "Does that answer all questions?"

"Actually, no." Keith held out his hand, "Can I have my bayard back now?" You shook your head, "Nope. Unless..."

"Unless what?"

You gave a mischievous smile, "You beat me in a duel."

"Ooooh, watcha gonna do now, mullet? This girl is going to whoop your sorry butt," Lance laughed.

"Do you mind?" Lex asked, "I'm trying to meditate here. You guys are very distracting."

"Wait, but that's all I have to do? Beat you in a duel?" Keith asked. You nodded. "But what do I use?"

"Use Lance's bayard. It should still transform into a sword for you." You held out the red bayard, which flashed and produced a blade.

"When I get my bayard back, I expect you to never take it again," Keith glared at you.

"If you win. Because I never lose."

HOLY CROW OVER 1000 WORDS. I started working on this yesterday, but just finished it now. So, I'm going to continue it and what not. I think I'm going to do Keith x Reader for this, which I said up top, but yeah. Please let me know what you think!
