I am not going to push you to write. I'm not going to say, "You can do it do it do it, go go go right now!" and why not? Because of course you can do it. But really, should you? Let's get to the bottom of this by answering one simple question.

Do you feel like writing right now?

If you don't, don't.

Don't feel guilty about not wanting to write, and why? Because guilt won't make you want to write more; it will only make you write more, and want to less. 

And eventually, this loveless work will paralyze you... You will be unable to write because, deep down, you so badly don't want to, yet you will be unable to do anything else because you have again and again watered your guilt.

So instead of writing, or not writing and doing something else, you end up only worried and helpless. You are paralyzed and it seems there's no way out... Fortunately there is a way out.

Just let it go.

The less you make yourself write, the more enjoyable it will be when you do want to write. And the more you enjoy writing, the more you want to write. It's this pervasive sense that we don't deserve breaks, that we're "wasting our time" that destroys our passion, our focus, and eventually our ability to work.

You aren't wasting your time. You're healing for next time. You're growing other interests and passions. You're living life fully, even if that's shutting down for a while in the middle of the day, just to look at the sun and the clouds, or to sleep because you're tired. Don't senselessly water your guilt. Accept your happiness instead.
