Firstly just wanna apologise for all those who read this chapter cus I basically rewrote the whole thing, forgot they were headed to a mission and not the head quarters...So yeah let's just get on with this 😁

Your POV
You were riding your horse next to Levi on your way to a reconnaissance mission beyond the walls, which was a great thing to get back to....yay.
Just a quick recap, you have gotten quite close with Annie, she had opened up to you a little bit which was nice. You had gained that kind of relationship you get with that one really nice teacher...anyway moving on you had said your goodbyes to Eren, Mikasa and Armin even though you would most likely be seeing them soon.
"Heads up!" You heard some random guy yelling over the sound of hooves trotting in the cobble floor. "The main unit of the scout regiment is back." You were currently going through a crowd of people who had come to watch you. "That's right commander Erwin!" You heard a ruff voice yell "Did you give those ugly bastards a thrashing?" You looked over at Erwin to see him with a straight face, you surpassed a giggle as you looked around the crowds, you'd notice the cadets you had only recently finished training. "Look it's captain Levi!" You heard a man saying, you looked over to were he was and noticed that he was in front of Eren, Mikasa and Armin (all looking star struck even Mikasa) "They say he's like an entire brigade unto himself!" He continued. "Oh! Oh! And look it's (Y/n) Yeager, she's back from training the cadets, wow just look at her." Someone else said. You smiled slightly as you looked over to Levi while hearing people praising you and Levi, but mostly Levi. He, like usual, had a couldn't-give-two-shits face. "'psh' Spare me please." Levi said, you laughed slightly as everyone still looked happy to see him. "Lighten up a little Levi, they look up to you." You said smiling while looking back to where you were headed. You heard his famous 'tch', causing you to giggled again. "You got that right (Y/n) that scowl will crush your fans. Not that it's any of my business, but from a public relations standpoint, you might want to take (Y/n)'s advise." Hanji said backing you up, Levi just kept a stoic face and replied with a simple hum.
You sat patiently on your horse waiting for the agonisingly slow gates to lift. "Oh!" You heard a crazy sounding Hanji. "The threshold of Titania!" You looked over at her and giggled at her expression she looked almost like a crazy fangirl with her hands clasped together. "Can't you just envision the horrors in store for us, comrades?" She takes in a high pitch breath. "I'm in pins and needles, if we bag an Abnormal I'll just burst with tears of joy!" She said squirming around squealing like a little girl. "You know I think we've bagged the craziest abnormal already." You said over her squeals, sounding tierd, 'I really need a break'. Hanji jumped slightly with excitement. "What! Seriously? Where?" You snorted as she looked around. Levi grabbed her hair facing her towards him. "She means you, four eyes." You laugh again, man I've missed this odd group of people. Your thoughts were interrupted by Erwin shouting. "Move out!" You suddenly heard the sound of hooves on the ground and horses neighing, 'welp fun's over I guess' you thought to yourself as you headed towards hell.

                       ~time skipa~

You quickly caught up to Levi as he landed on a roof, after killing a Titan using his special spinning move, he's awesome...anyway. "One on the right." He said to you as you landed next to him. "Two on the left." Before you could say anything Petra landed next to you followed by Gunther and Eld who landed behind her either side. "Captain! The reinforcements are here, sir!" Levi turned fully. "Good. Tend to our comrade below, Petra and (Y/n)." You looked at him. "But Levi I-" He looks say you sternly. "(Y/n)." You backed down knowing that now wasn't the time. "You two, take out the Titan to your right. The pair in the left belong to me." You looked down slightly angry that you couldn't help killing the Titans. "Captain! Wait!" Petra yelled for him. "It's too late Pet, he's gone, come on let's go." You turned to Gunthrr and Eld "Good luck." They both nodded to you as they launched off. You turn back to Petra. "Come on let's go and help him." You said as you reluctantly went down, this man may be dying or might even be already dead. You had to help him as best as you could, and this wasn't something you liked doing, you hated seeing the injured and the dead. Even after all these years being surrounded by death you still couldn't get used to it one bit.
"Sir!" You called out looking for the comrade. You heard coughing so you and Petra rushed to were you could hear it. "Hang on, we'll get you out of there." Petra said as you started to pull his leg out from under the Titan's head, Petra came over to help you pull him out...this doesn't look good.

                  ~mini time skip~

You were sat down with the comrade's head between your legs to keep it still while Petra knelt down next to him putting pressure on his wound, a fail attempt at stopping the blood. You heard footsteps and the slight clank of a 3DMG and saw Levi making his way towards the three of you. "Captain, I-I can't stop the bleeding." Petra said looking a little frantic while you were trying to keep your cool, you looked down at his face, you could see the colour draining from his face, a big contrast to the crimson blood dripping from his head and mouth. "Captain Levi..." The man struggled to get the words out as his throat started to dry up. At the call of his name Levi walked closer to the man crouching down and in a calm voice said. "I'm here." You looked at the man concerned as he started to speak again. "D-did this make a difference? Was I- was I helpful?" He asked sounding hopeful. He lifted up his hand with great struggled as his breath came out ragged. "Please sir." He said still lifting his arm up. "Don't tell me, this was for nothing." He tried to take in a breath, but it didn't sound right. His eyes had tears just beginning to over flow. Levi grabbed his blooding hand and held it tightly. "We've made great strides today solider and tomorrow because of you." He sounded strong but soothing, he took in a slightly shaky breath. "Your strength won't die with you the tourch will be carried on by me." His grip tighten. "This I swear in my very life the Titans will be eradicated." You watched as a drip of blood slowly made its way down Levi's hand. Your eyes start to water as you let out a shaky. "Sir." You said as you looked down at his face. Petra looked away. "I'm sorry, he's gone." She finished for you as tears fell from her eyes. Levi looked at him slightly shocked, he looked at you. "Did the man hear what I had to say? Any of it?" Levi said sounding concerned. You looked up at him. "Yeah, as a matter of fact I think he heard all of it." You looked down at the fallen solider. "Look at him." Your voice started to shake as you looked at the peaceful looking man between your hands. "That's a face of someone at peace." You said sadly, trying to not let it get to you until after the mission. Levi closed his eyes as he stood up while saying. "We can hope." You heard horses behind Levi followed by a loud voice. "Levi!" This caused Levi to quickly turn. "We're pulling out." Erwin said in a strong deep voice, me and Petra stood up. "Sir?" Petra asked confused, 'yeah what the hell does he mean, we can keep going'. "What do you mean?" Levi ask voicing your thoughts. "You damn well know that we can push further!" Levi turns fully. "My men didn't die to pave our retreat." He said sounding slightly more angry. Erwin looked down at Levi "There's a swarm of Titans moving north, they're beating down on the city." 'No' you thought as Petra and Levi were just as shocked. Erwin turned to look the opposite direction of the three of you. "It's just like five years ago." Memories came flooding back. "Something tells me this is going to be bad." Your eyes start to water as you clench your fists. "For all we know the walls already been reduced to rubble." 'damn it not here' you though as you could feel your chest tighten and your head began to pound. 'No, I can't lose them again, I can't deal with it.' You started to get dizzy. 'No no no, Armin, Mikasa, Eren....Dad....Mu-' "Hey (Y/n). Come on snap out of it we need to head back." You were snapped back into reality by Levi shaking your shoulders slightly, he knew exactly what was going on. "B-Bu-" Before you could get a word in Levi interrupted. "No, not now." You looked deep into his eyes, his gaze never leaving yours, for some reason this seemed to calm you. Looking into his eyes seemed to make everything else disappear. "Come on (Y/n), we need to get out of here." He said in a calm voice as he lead you to who knows where.
