I Hope They Understand

Lachlan's POV

Lachlan: "How do you tell someone you don't want to be their friend anymore? That you find them wrong, annoying, insufferable. That they piss you off to no end, but you have been their friend for years. That you don't care about their problems anymore. That being the person they go to makes you feel sick in the stomach. How do you do it? I mean yeah I've been their friends for nigh on 3 years now. Recording, talking to them, visiting them, wanting to be their friend and help them. We have spoken about so much in the past few years that if anything got out on either side. It would be heart wrenching and horrible. And not a single person would ever be able to do it... Mitch why is breaking up with friends so much harder than breaking up with your partner?"

I looked up at the screen in front of me. Mitch and Jerome both had always been there for me. And I know Jay and his boyfriend were down stairs waiting for me. I love the four of them dearly. With Jay and Michael (Yes this is still a thing and in the world of gay FanFiction... mine. Straight FanFiction and anything else he is with Tenneal.) downstairs and always wanting to help me. It makes it hard. Hell even Jess would talk to me if I ever needed help. Landon and Preston were there too but Rob and a Vik had their own lives. And they couldn't be there as often as the others which is understandable. Rob is always recording, and Vik has the SideMen...

Mitch: "Have you spoken to Jay and Michael about it?"

Lachlan: "Yeah. They said to just straight up tell them. It's hard though, I've known him for years now. And I know it will affect my current standings with our friends. Vik says he won't mind and he understands that people fall out all the time but now? I feel like dirt, like I'm wrong and horrible. That I don't deserve anything."

Mitch: "Lachlan as Vik said, and you need to understand this. People fall out all the time, whether they become so busy and lose contact. Whether they are feeling sick or unwell and don't want to get their friends sick as well. A new girlfriend or boyfriend is where they feel they should spend more time. There are many different reasons as to why someone would break up with their friends or partners. You need to remember that."

Lachlan: "Yeah I know. It just, I feel like I'm being selfish. That even though everything they do annoys me, pisses me off and makes me honestly want to shut myself away and cut myself so I can feel something other than selfishness and regret. Do I regret being their friends? Do I regret myself maybe?"

Mitch: "Lachlan baby listen to me. I love you more than anything, but you need to remember that sometimes we outgrow our old friends in an endeavor to make new ones. Sometimes we have to pretend that we can't stay with those we have called our friends anymore because we have out grown them in some way. You know I'm always going to be here for you. And that goes for Rob, Preston and Jerome to. Just remember that whatever happens. You more than likely will affect their standing with Vik as well. You need to be sure that while this will make you happier than ever before. Finally feeling free and happy. This isn't just about you and yeah I'm putting you in a guilt trip I'm sorry. Lachlan, Princess I just want you to be absolutely sure about this ok?"

I nodded my head but the tears started flowing, I was so scared. I looked up as my door opened to see Jay standing in the door way with a plate of food.

Jay: "Hey, Uh. Michael made dinner, Cooked you up some chicken and rice with sauce. It isn't too bad."

Lachlan: "You guys ate without me?"

Jay: "No, Michael slapped my hand when I tried to eat mine before bringing yours up to you. I'm just hungry. How are you Mitch?"

He walked over and put the plate down in front of me. Stealing my headset as he started talking to my boyfriend. We had been together for over a year now. And yet, after all this time. He was still so happy to talk to me and always gracious in letting me stay with him.

Jay: "Yeah I know. We are worried about him as well. And with Insomnia in a few weeks, and he had already planned to go and stay with Harry or Tobi. It makes it hard."

I listened to them chatter away while I ate my dinner. Eventually I finished and Jay handed me back my headset. I thanked him and he kissed me on the cheek. Trying to make me feel better.

Mitch: "Waht was that?"

Lachlan: "What? No Mitch it didn't mean anything he's just affectionate and..."

Mitch: "Lachlan that's not what I was asking. I know what Jay is like. I was talking about your dinner. It looked nice."

Lachlan: "Oh, Chicken, Rice and some sauce. I think it was soy sauce maybe I don't know, It was nice."

Mitch: "It looked good. So what are you going to do? Maybe you should talk to them individually or speak to one of them. The one you trust the most not to get upset or angry. Ok that's a lie we all know the person to talk to about anything goin on is Tobi. But how are you going to do it?"

Lachlan: "I don't know. I don't even know how I'm going to talk to any of them. I'm so scared Biggums."

Jerome: "I HEARD THAT!"

I couldn't help but smile as Jerome walked into shot and hugged Mitch.

Jerome: "My biggums, Your boyfriend."

Lachlan: "Come on mate. I need this right now."

Jerome: "Haha I'm joking Lachlan it's fine. If you ask me."

Mitch: "Be careful. Between you and Ryan I'd be scared of what you two would say."

Jerome: "You leave my friend out of this. Jess said that you were scared. And I know she would never be wrong about something like this. Honestly. Have you tried to just slowly palm them off? Tell them you can't do anything for a length of time until they stop asking over time? Then when your ready and you think it's time. You can just block or stop talking to them completely. They would eventually get the point right?"

Mitch: "No because then they would feel like he is heartless and selfish and wouldn't be able to tell them himself. I'll be honest with you Lachy. You haven't exactly got yourself in a good position."

Lachlan: "Yeah I know. Thanks Mitch. I'll talk to you tomorrow ok baby? I love you."

Mitch: "I love you too Lachy. If at any time you need me, please message me straight away."

Lachlan: "I will. I promise."

I ended the call and got up from my chair. Grabbing my plate to take out with me. I walked down stairs and into the kitchen. Rinsing off my plate before being stopped by michael standing in front of me.

Michael: "So what are you doing?"

Lachlan: "I'm going to talk to one of them."

Michael: "Are you sure?"

Lachlan: "No. I know the boys won't be happy. Especially JJ, Ethan and Simon. But I just hope they understand."
