CHAPTER 5

"I have to what?!"

"She's not doing it!"

I was on the verge of exploding. Tyler was visibly taking on the form of Hulk.

All smash and no chill.

Waverly stood opposite us looking perplexed and frightened. Never would I have ever guessed in my entire existence that I would be in the need of doing such a shameful act. To give in to something far from just agonizing, but questions my sanity as well.

It felt as if Olive Penderghast had it better in Easy A.

"It isn't as bad as it seems." Wave squirms a little while trying to console me. Her hand patted my back comfortingly.

I snatched the paper from her and read through the fine lines printed on it again and again. I was trying to mentally convince myself that this wasn't happening, that I was hallucinating on orange moss or something. But all was in vain. It was reality and it was slapping me hard across the face.

I was the new tutor of Asher Westbrook.

"Kill me now." I start to hit my head on a tree trunk repeatedly. We were chilling in our usual spot under a shady tree in the courtyard up until Andrea broke the news to us. Apparently I was not meant to 'relax' as life had some other things stored for me.

This was pure torture. I just feel like running around school screaming like a raging lunatic.

"I get that you're unleashing your inner kamehameha but I doubt that helps."

A smug looking Elliot comes into sight. My hands reach my temples and massaged it gently. "Not now, Eli", Wave steps in front of me authoritatively, arms crossed. This made him crack up even more. Well Wave isn't the best person to show aggression in situations like this.

Don't get me wrong though, at times Wave can be very, very scary. Just not at the moment.

By the looks of it, he seemed to understand our situation very well. I lift my head up and shot him a quizzical look.

"Asher is my best friend, Ray. Of course I know" he deadpanned. Great he already knew about this and probably half of the student body too. All before I found out myself.

Tyler stops pacing and goes over to Elliot irritatedly. "Hey man", Elliot greets Ty with a fist bump which he blatantly ignored. It was very weird of him acting like this around Eli. They were mates after all and this sort of stance he held was quite off-putting.

"What the fuck is happening dude?" Ty asked him. Elliot raised his shoulders in a beat. His gaze lands on Ty's balled up fists and panic suddenly washes up on his face.

Noticing the change in aura, I butt in for safe measures. "It's just a tutoring session guys, it's fine." I wasn't entirely wholehearted on saying this but it was the only way to clear the tension. It's not like I can back away from this anyway, especially for reasons about disliking the guy I have to help.

All three heads snap at me with a dumbfounded expression etched on their faces. Not everyday you get to see Reagan Summers give in so easily to something she didn't agree to but since she did, they were straight up speechless. It was as if Yoda suddenly proclaimed that he was Hulk's father.

"Maybe she's right"

For the first time in a few minutes, Andrea speaks up. This time all of us including me, stare at her. "I mean, it's pretty harmless since helping out someone is a good deed and this'll help her get a scholarship too", she explains timidly.
