I woke up the next day rather…happy in a way. I changed for school and gathered all of my materials. As I was cleaning my desk, I found Xavier's blue journal sitting there. I grabbed it and made space for it in my bag. I headed down the stairs to the kitchen. I smelled pancakes. My mother’s pancakes. Whenever my mom made food I wouldn't eat it. Its not that I don’t like her cooking. I didn’t want anything from her even food. I decided to make myself eggs and two burnt tortillas.

"Where's Bunny?" My mother said. I sat across from Xavier and gave him this ‘Sorry’ look. Xavier was wearing the same jeans as yesterday, except that he changed his shirt to one of my brother’s blue shirts. It fit him a bit loose but it suited him quite well I had to add. It also brought out the colors of eyes, making them more brighter and intense.

"I'm here." I said.

"I'm late!" My mom rushed out completely ignoring me. After that, my father left as well, leaving me alone with my brother and Xavier.

"So like someone woke up late. We're going to miss the bus." Erix looked at me.

"It's not that late." Xavier said. "We can always drive or take the Metro to school." Seriously, Xavier has been answering for me. He was like an angel. But this angel was starting to get on my damn nerves.

"Fine." Erix got up leaving his plate on the table. I finished my meal and picked up all of the dishes and took them to the sink.

"Do you want me to wash them?" Xavier asked.

"No it's fine. Let’s go, we're actually gonna be late if we don't leave now." I grabbed my sweater and rushed out of the door. "Erix hurry your ass up!" I yelled. A pair of keys fell on my head.

"Start the car!" I heard Erix's voice crack. I picked up the keys and headed out.

I opened the car and placed my bag at the back. I sat on the driver’s seat, and turned on the car. Xavier sat on the shotgun as if he were a teacher and I was a student. Why? Because it seemed like it.  Erix still hadn’t came out and ten minutes had passed already. This time I pulled the seat belt and took the car out of the driveway.

Once I was a block away, my phone rang. Xavier picked it up for me.

"This is Xavier, Elm's phone, how may I help you?"

"Xavier! Tell Ebony to come and get me!" Erix was loud enough. I turned back just to see Erix jog towards our way.

"No, Sir. I'm driving." I said as he opened the drivers door. He groaned and jumped to the back seat.

"Josh and Ray need a ride." Erix said as he took out his phone.

After we had picked them up, Ray decided to ask a stupid question that set me off, "Hey, do you have a chauffeur now?”

"Excuse me? Do I look like a chauffeur?" I spat.

"Who's she? Oh right, it's Ebony. Hey, Ebony. How are you doing?" Ray patted my shoulder.

"In the mood to jump out of the car and purposely kill you." Ray sat back down and didn't say anything more. Good thing that there wasn’t much traffic, otherwise I would have literally jumped out.

Once at school, I handed Erix his car keys and I headed towards my class. Sadly, Josh and Xavier were right behind me, following me. I caught Angie's surprised face in the middle of the hallway, nearly drooling.

"Shut your mouth. You're going to make a river if you don't close it." Angie looked passed me to Josh.

"What's the meaning of this?" She asked. I sighed.
