"Up ahead. We'll find the compass just over the ridge." Killian says to the women.

Killian was still tied at the wrist with Mulan pointing her sword at her back, a precaution they made knowing not to fully trust the one handed pirate.

"Do you get the feeling he's leading us exactly where Cora wants us? That this whole thing's a trap?" Mary Margret asks worried.

"It's definitely a trap. As long as we know they're trying to play us, we can.." Emma starts.

"Stay one step ahead of them." Alexa finishes for her, making Emma roll her eyes.

They stop at the top of the hill staring at the giant beanstalk that stood less than fifty yards away from them.

"Let me guess, the compass is up there?" Emma sighs.

"Oh, yeah." Killian answers.

"So how do we.. get to it?" Emma questions.

"It's not the climb you need to worry about, it's the giant at the top." Killian explains.

"Wonderful. I've always wanted to meet a giant." Alexa remarks.

"It's a little freakier than I remember from the story." Emma muses.

"That's one way of putting it." Alexa frowns.

"It looks like death." Mulan states.

"Encouraging." Mary Margret remarks.

"Well, your compass awaits. Shall we?" Killian says walking towards the giant beanstalk.

"Wait, if these.. beans create portals, why not just pick one and and go home? Why the compass?" Emma asks.

"Because there aren't any more beans. Whatever story you think you know, my dear, is most certainly wrong." Killian explains.

"There was a guy named Jack, a cow, an evil giant, and a golden goose." Alexa tells him.

"I'm pretty sure it was a golden harp." Emma retorts.

"Sounds like a lovely tale, but the truth's a little more gruesome." Killian informs them. "The giants grew beans, but rather than use them for good they used them to plunder all the lands. Jack was a man who fought a terrible war, defeating all but one of the evil giants. The beans were destroyed by the giants as they died. If they couldn't have their magic, then nobody could. It's really very bad form."
