"Phew! Finally! And just in time for Quinn's birthday!" I squealed in excitement as I quickly tied my messy hair into a neat ponytail.

"Grandma! It's Quinn's birthday today! I'm going over for a mini celebration! I'll come back around..." I checked the clock on the wall, showing the time 8pm. "Uhh... around 11 pm."

"Okay sweetie! Take care!" My grandma said from upstairs.

"You're going out this late?" Sean asked as he slung his schoolbag over his shoulders in his usual fashion.

"It's not that late. Besides, I grew up here. Should be safe I guess." I replied casually as I checked my reflection in a nearby mirror on the wall, making sure I looked presentable.

"Where does your friend live?" He asked, a tinge of curiosity in his tone.

"Just around Rolland Street. It's literally just a 15 min walk from here. "

"Really? Huh. Mine's probably further down the street."
I shot him a horrified look.
"You mean..."
"I guess we're walking together, sugar lips." He said with a chuckle.
"Arghh...." I covered my face with my hands in frustration.
" I never asked for this either!" He added, a smile on his face, probably amused at how annoyed I look.

I grumbled as I started walking out the door of the pizzeria, with Sean trailing behind. We walked together in silence as usual. Only our footsteps and the occasional chirping of crickets could be heard. I admired the familiar surroundings as I felt the cold wind blow. I shuddered in the cold night air.

"Hey, you got a chili pepper on you?" He said, a mischievous smile on his face.
"What?" I was confused.
Random much?
"Cause you look a little chili (chilly)" he burst out in laughter at his pun.

I groaned at how lame his joke was. For a guy who is very popular with girls, he sure does have a terrible sense of humour.
" One more One more. Ok so... if you're cold, stand in a corner. You know why?"
I shook my head, feeling quite amused at his terrible jokes.
" because it's 90 degrees." He burst into the second round of laughter.
I tried my best to stop the smile from appearing.

" oh come on. Don't be so cold." He was full on
Laughing now, with a couple of snorts thrown in here and there.
This time I couldn't help but let out a small
laugh at his horrible attempt to be funny.
"What can I say? My heart is very much frozen."
That sent both of us doubling over in laughter.
Who knew hanging out with the infamous playboy could actually be fun?

We continued walking, occasionally cracking puns here and there. He was actually a pretty funny guy when he wasn't acting cocky or annoying...

Sean POV
I watched as she laughed at the puns I was telling.
With both eyes squinted into two small lines, she bent forward and laughed loudly, probably loud enough to wake the neighbours.
I couldn't help but laugh along.
Surprisingly, Liz Summers wasn't all that bad. At times.

" Wow. It's really freezing now." She said as she rubbed her hands together and hugged herself.
I glanced down at the jacket I was wearing, finding it amusing how I'm all warm and she's freezing her head off right beside me. I contemplated lending her my jacket before deciding not to. Usually, I wouldn't even bother to do these 'gentlemanly' actions for a girl. If I were to give her my jacket, would'nt I be cold too?

However, her incessant chattering of teeth and shivering annoyed me and I finally decided to just help her out a little. Just to stop her shivering. Not because I care. Yup. Just to stop her annoying shivering.

I grabbed her hands without warning and shoved them in the pockets of my jacket.
"Keep it there."
"What? This is such an awkward position."
She was right in a way. Her body was slanted towards mine with her arms outstretched, hands in my pocket as we walked side by side.

"If you don't want to be cold, keep em there."
I replied, realising that I didn't actually thought this through.

"Uhh... actually... I would rather be cold..."
Her voice trailed off as she slowly tried to take her hands out of my pocket.

Shit. Bad move. Why did I even offer? Stupid stupid stupid!
What a blow to my ego...
Not willing to let her refuse my kind offer, I grasp her hand.

"I know you're cold. Don't be so shy."
I said with a small wink towards her.
I wasn't sure if it was the cold wind prickling her cheeks, causing it to be red, or she was actually blushing.
"Me? Shy? Puh lease..." she said arrogantly as she slipped hands further in to prove me wrong.
Stubborn as always...

And that's how we walked for the rest of the journey.
"You know, usually guys offer their jackets but I guess for you, your pockets are fine."
She said with a small smile.

When we reached Quinn's house, she slipped her hands out of my pockets. She rushed up the front porch of the house and pressed the doorbell. I watched as she waited eagerly for the door to open. After a moment or two, I saw the door open, followed by a head popping out, then two. Then three.  A total of three heads popped out of the doorway, curious looks on their face. The moment they saw Liz, the faces brightened up as the girl, named Quinn open the door. I was about to turn and head home when I heard a shrill scream "Sean Henderson?!". It was loud enough to wake the entire street.
I stopped in my tracks as I saw them hurdled together and whispering.
"Are you guys...?" I heard one of them say.
"No!" Liz yelled.
They were obviously talking about me.
I cleared my throats to catch their attention.
Their heads snapped towards me as Liz shot me an embarrassed smile.
"Guys, we can talk about it inside. It's getting a little cold isn't it?" Liz suggested as she tried tp
shoo them all into the house.

I stood there as the door slammed shut.
Before I could turn to leave once again, I heard the door creak open.
"Thanks for your pockets Sean Henderson!"
I heard Liz whisper-yelled to me before I heard her close the door once more.
I couldn't help but smile.
