Courtney's POV:
Week 2 of our new school will be great I'm sure, but I've still been feeling nervous... why? I don't know, I mean, I have a few friends, so far I have no one that hates me, and life's not bad... I don't know, I guess I'm just paranoid after what happened at our old school.
I get up half an hour than I normally will, just to make an impression, pull on an outfit that says 'cute and smart, with a hint of badass, just so no one messes with me, but also one that doesn't look like I'm trying too hard. (Ladies, you will know how hard an outfit like this is to find...)
I take one last look in the mirror and after I've convinced myself for the 3 millionth time that I look fine, and no one but me really cares how I look anyway, I finally get my school things together, grab a banana and head over to the twins' house.
I also take with me those engraved bracelets that I bought at the mall a little while ago - the ones that have our initials on them. I was going to give them to the twins at Christmas, but 1) I sort of forgot about them and 2) I decided it would be a good 'back to school' gift, just to keep us motivated and to let each other know we are there, and nothing can separate us.
When I arrive, I see the twins have done a good job with their outfits - both wearing casual jeans but with shirts to make them look smart but cool. I will have to be careful to keep Grayson to myself if he goes out looking this.
What? I think my boyfriend looks cute, I'm allowed to be possessive.
Trust me, I'm not the jealous girlfriend type, and I completely trust Grayson, not that he would ever do anything like that, but I'm just saying that I trust him 100%.
"You guys look great!" I said hugging Ethan, and then making my way to Grayson, giving him an extra tight hug.
"Thankyou, you don't look to bad yourself I guess." Grayson smirked.
"Shut up..." I said, but then he smiled at me with his famous smile, and what ever creative insult I was about to say, completely slipped my mind...
"Seriously? No insult today? 'Shut up' is all you got? I'm surprised Miller." Ethan said. Grayson just smirked as he knew full well what just happened.
"Anyway....." I said, kind of embarrassed. "I got you guys something, actually I got them before Christmas but I thought now would be the best time, so... here." I continued as I pulled the boxes out of my bag. I handed the black beaded one to Ethan and put it on his wrist for him, then I gave Grayson his wooden one. I then showed them my silver one and they smiled at the matching 'EGC <3' that was engraved on it.
"I know it's cheesy, but I thought it was cute so..."
"I love it!" Ethan said. "Now we're a true squad, crew, team, whatever. Thank you C." He smiled.
"He's right, you didn't have to do this." Grayson smiled his amazing smile at me that made me melt every damn time.
"No problem guys, now come on, we've got to go!" I hurried them.
Ethan ran upstairs to grab his pre-packed backpack.
"I'm so sorry we never got to have our date... how about this Friday? After school, then we can all have one of our amazing sleep overs?" Grayson said.
"No it's cool! I think that sounds perfect, in fact, you know what?"
"What?"
"It's a date." I laughed.
"Okay then." He smiled.
"You're perfect." He said, looking me directly into my eyes. He pushed some of my hair behind my ears, and we stayed there for a little while, just having a moment. I didn't even want to know how red I was right now, I probably loom like a sunburnt tomato.
"Ahem, guys...?" Ethan said, interrupting us. He'd probably been there a while, but both of us were so engrossed in each other, that we barely noticed anything around us.
"Sorry." Grayson said, as he kissed the top of my head and walked away, taking me with him by the hand. I was still to speechless to say anything, which I could tell Grayson loved and Ethan found amusing. I didn't want to open my mouth, say something dumb and spoil the moment.
When we arrived at school, we saw the usual - people talking, hugging, gossiping and a few people making out.
We walked into the building, went to our almost empty lockers, which weren't all that far from one another and made our way to our first lesson, physics, which I had with Jas, and the twins had together.
"Hey Jas! I missed you this holidays!" I said, hugging her.
"Hey! Yeah I missed you too! I wanted to hang out, but we went away to see our grandparents for most of the time, so I wasn't really around much. Did you do anything interesting?" She asked.
"Oh that sounds good! And not really, I just stayed here and hung out with the twins most days." I laughed.
"And? How are they?"
"Yeah they're okay, in fact, Grayson and I got together." I said blushing, tucking my hair behind my ear, remembering when Gray did it to me that morning.
"I knew you would! You guys are perfect together!" She said.
"Thank you! So... have you been talking to Ethan?" I asked.
"Yeah, a little bit.... hey C? Can I ask you something that is so childish and stupid, but..um...."
"Sure, go ahead." I laughed.
"Well... um... did he... say anything... about me?" She asked, nervously.
"Okay." I said getting closer so no one could hear. "I've been working on it. I asked him about you a few times, and every time, he blushed and said he didn't know but I knew he was lying. I don't want to assume anything in case I'm wrong, but I think he likes you." I said.
Her face lit up, damn she must like him. I don't blame her, he's a great guy.
"Really?" She asked.
"Yeah, so... do you like him?" I asked.
"Well... I don't know, I haven't really known him that long, so it's impossible to tell... but... um... we Facetimed twice in the holidays and--"
"WHAT?!"
"Yeah..?"
"HE DID NOT TELL ME THIS!"
"Haha, keep your voice down!" She laughed.
"What did he say?" I asked, intrigued.
"He just said that I looked pretty and that I was funny and... to be honest, I can't really remember all that much." She laughed. "He's so nice though, I mean, he doesn't even think my interests are weird, he just takes an interest in what I'm saying and and, I don't know, do you know what I mean?"
"You mean, you think he's perfect and he's so nice to you and you always smile when you see him?" I asked.
"Yeah..."
"That's how I felt about Gray, and look where we are now." I smiled.
"True... but I don't think anything like that will happen just for a while, I mean, I've only known the kid three weeks!" She said.
"True, just give it time." I winked.
Just then, the teacher walked in and class started. I'm actually excited at the though of Ethan and Jas, and I really want to help, especially after all the help Ethan gave me with Grayson and how nice Jas had been since we got here.
I hope I can help them.
When lunch came, we sat at our normal table. (I say normal, I mean the table we sat at for all 5 days in the last week.) I saw Ethan and Jas exchange glances, some of them looking awkward, but with others, they smirked as though they knew something we didn't.
We were enjoying our lunch when something happened.
A girl I didn't recognise walked up to our table.
"Jae?" Ethan gulped. "What are you doing here?"
