We were leaving for the holidays in a few days, and I couldn't help but feel sad I was departing from Hogwarts. At least Draco and I could communicate via owl. My problem was getting him a christmas gift because he was so difficult to shop for. I mean, what do you get your rich boyfriend who has cashmere scarves without making it obvious who it's from for christ sake? We'd been together for awhile and I didn't know what to get him. How pathetic. I wanted the gift to be personal but I couldn't think of much.

"Hey Ginny, do you want to come with me to Hogsmeade?" I asked, crossing my legs on my bed.

"Sure. Anything you're looking for in particular?"

"I dunno. I was thinking of checking out Honeyduke's."

"D'you wanna go in say, 20 minutes? It's still light out and I'm sure they'll let us go." I nodded and grabbed my coat, also slipping on my old pair of hightops. We got ready quickly and headed out towards the courtyard. I was hoping the Carrows weren't on gate duty because I knew they wouldn't let us go.

"Let's hope it's McGonagall." Ginny said.

"I was just thinking that. I mean really it's crazy how much Hogwarts has changed since Dumbledore." I nodded, rubbing my hands together to warm them up. Snow stuck to our hair, decorating us with glistening white flecks. Thankfully enough, McGonagall was on gate duty and I breathed a sigh a relief.

"Do you have any more cauldron cakes in the back?" I asked the woman behind the counter, drumming my fingers on the edge of the wooden tabletop.

"Just a second, sweetheart." She headed to the back and downstairs, leaving me to think of what else to get Draco.

"Don't you just love last minute gift shopping?" Ginny asked, holding a box of peppermint toads. I groaned just as the woman came back smiling triumphantly.

"You're lucky, dear. These are the last two boxes." She slid them over to me, patting the top of the packaging.

"Thank god." I handed her the galleons and walked out with the cauldron cakes tucked into my coat.

"Since you haven't asked for my opinion, I'm assuming these are for your secret lover." Ginny wiggled her eyebrows suggestively at me and I couldn't help but laugh.

"Well, if you must know, yes. They are."

"You're into the kind that fancies cauldron cakes? And I thought you had better taste." I shoved her playfully, hard enough to send her tumbling into a pile of snow. Ginny squealed, trying to get up quickly from the cold snow only to slip and fall again. I giggled and bent over to get enough snow to form an adequate sized snowball when something hit me square in the ear. Ginny smiled, holding another snowball in her hand.

"I hate you! My damn ear is frozen! What if I get frostbite?"

"Well, maybe if you tell me who it is, I won't throw this at your face." I sighed, putting my hands on my hips.
