Naeva's Point of View

The shadows were rejoicing in a circle around me, holding hands and singing. Amara was just yelling for them to shut up in my head, and Mariana was probably sleeping or somewhere deep inside of my mind.

I haven't spoken to her ever since Samuel and I gotten back together and I didn't want to bother her because she probably still hasn't fully healed over her mate.

I can't blame her for not talking to me, and she is a very strong wolf, which I admire her for.

"You have made the right choice in combining with us," the shadow said, the smirk not leaving his face.

All the things that he could be planning for when this was done was racing through my mind. It would be hard to get rid of them.

Once you leave the light and join the dark, it's hard to go back into the light again.

The darkness is like a drug. Once you've had a taste of what it offers, you're instantly hooked and it is very hard to let go of it.

Others who have tried to leave it sometimes still go back after it.

Whenever Amara spoke, it was just a bunch of curse words and the numerous amount of things she wanted to do to Michael. If I said I hated her ideas, that would be a very big lie.

I have never agreed with Amara so much.

Niada has been seeing through my eyes because our connection has gotten even stronger, making it even easier for me to draw out her energy.

I'm sure she understands why I am doing it.

Niada's Point of View

When I had gotten all that I had needed, I rushed back to the house and headed straight to my room, where Pearlette was already waiting for me.

She had began mixing the other ingredients together, so I just handed the others to her.

"You will need to leave, because I need to concentrate on this." I nodded, knowing that one wrong move can leave the user in a death like sleep.

I went out of the room and decided to pay Blake a visit.

What aunt Aquarie had told me about my light dying out had never left my mind and I do actually feel a little bad for what I did to him.

The amount of pain the nightmares create could have actually ended his life, which I don't want to do. Death would just end his misery quickly, seeing as he can't stand that his mate is with another.

I chuckled a bit at the thought of love. Something that was not meant for me.

That was why Magnus and I cannot be together. It would just ruin everything. It would make me human, ruining my mission.

When I got to Blake's office, I lightly knocked on the door.

"Come in."

Slowly, I entered the room.

When he looked up and saw that it was me, anger could be written all over his face, but his eyes on the other hand had fear.

I walked up towards him, not looking away from his eyes. He wasn't able to shift.

Mermaids had the ability to freeze one just by having eye to eye contact with a male being, seeing as it didn't work on females. It was how they lured men to their deaths.

People often assumed that sirens were the ones who harmed men, while angels were perfect, angelic creatures, but they were wrong. Sirens and mermaids were the same. It was the looks that had them fooled.

It was because the humans who lived to tell others the stories always described the mermaids in their warrior form.

I stared deeper into his eyes, taking in every single detail, before managing to tap into his mind. When I was finally in it, I showed him a few memories of Naeva that I had previously seen.

"She's going to be out soon," I said, letting him out of the trance.

"It's ready!" Pearlette voice rang through my head.

When I was almost of out the door I finally said, "sorry."
