Ivy's POV
"I still can't believe it's not white," Esther said as we pulled into the driveway. I noticed the kids playing in the yard with their dad, causing me to smile a bit.
"White stands for purity. I didn't make a big deal about it because I know I'm not pure and I have two kids and a witness to prove it," I said with a small laugh as Mitch glared at me. "Relax. It was like a year ago."
"You scarred me for life!"
"Oops," I said with a laugh as I got out of the car. Walking over to the three, I sat down in the grass, effectively pulling Greyson into my arms. His infectious laugh filled the air as Avi joined us on the ground.
"Find anything?" he asked, wrapping Athena in his arms.
"Yes, but you're not seeing it," I told him, lifting the young boy into the air and smiling up at him. I could feel Avi's pout, but it didn't phase me. He wasn't allowed to see.
"Have you two figured out who's going to be in the wedding?" Mitch asked, him, Esther, Kirstie, and Scott taking a seat in front of us.
"I think we're pretty sure," Avi said with a smile, letting Athena crawl around a bit.
"Okay, bridesmaids first."
I smiled a bit, hardly able to keep the excitement off my face. "I want Kirstie, Esther, Zoey, Angel, and you," I said, pointing to Mitch.
I watched as he looked up at me, realization coming over his face. "You want me to be a bridesmaid?" he asked, the shock evident in his voice.
"Actually, as abnormal as it sounds, Maid of Honor. I would choose Kirst but being engaged is too close to being married and she said I should pick you," I explained with a small laugh.
"That just made my day," he said and looked to Avi. "Groomsmen?"
"Scott, Josh, Darien, Jeremy, and I want Kevin to be my best man," he said confidently, adjusting the beanie on top of his head.
"You know what I just realized?" Kirstie spoke up, a small smirk on her lips. "Kevin called it."
I gave her a confused look, though Mitch started laughing hysterically. "What do you mean?" I asked.
"The first day we met you, he said he was going to your's and Avi's wedding. Now look at us."
I could feel myself starting to blush as I shrugged a bit. "In all honesty, he started it," I said, pointing my thumb at Avi.
"How many times do I have to apologize?" he asked with an exasperated voice, though the smile on his face told me he wasn't really irritated.
"Until I say so," I said with a small smile.
"Have you decided on colors?" I looked to Mitch who had his phone out, waiting for an answer.
"White, black and gold," Avi said as I felt his arm wrap around me.
"Black in a wedding? That's not normal," Scott spoke up, confusion written on his face.
"When have they ever been normal?" Esther asked, raising an eyebrow at the blonde.
"Fair enough," Mitch said and began typing again. Once he finished, he stood up, followed quickly by the others. "We have things to do. Since you have the dress, start looking at bridesmaids dresses and get an idea for what you want," he said, bidding us farewell.
"They are something else," Avi said, standing up and helping me up.
"You're something else," I told him playfully, picking up Greyson and holding him close. "You're the only one that thinks dragons are real."
"I will fight you right now."
"I began laughing as I made my way to the door. "You won't because you know that I didn't have to say yes," I added, sending him a wink as I walked inside, playing Greyson on the floor as I sat on the couch. Avi joined me a few minutes later, putting Athena down and resting his head in my lap.
"You're right. You didn't have to say yes, but I don't know what I would have done if you didn't," he said, focusing his attention on the tv.
"Face it, even if I wanted to, which I didn't, I couldn't have said no. Especially with the way you asked. Did it seriously take you a year to plan that?"
"Kirstie was right. I was being very picky," he said, a deep laugh resonating in his chest. "I think it was worth it, but I don't think I've ever been as nervous as I was in that moment."
"That's sweet," I told him, leaning down and kissing the top of his head. It was strange how we'd been together for years with only a small break, but being around him still had the same butterfly effect on me as it had when we first started being nice to each other. And as sappy as it sounds, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
A/N: Back from hiatus! Sorry it's been a while. I've had a ton of assignments and tests for school since we got back from spring break so from here on out, my posting might be a little spaced out since we have like a month before finals.
