Chapter 6: The way to your brother's heart

Jonathan's POV

It's been four days since my beautiful Clary was taken from me. I have to figure out a way to get her back. She is the heart of my plan.

I wish there was a way I could contact her. Wait the rings! I left it in Clary's leather jacket. I hope she found it. I run to my room and open the drawer. I slid the ring on my middle finger, close my eyes, and try to contact Clary.

Clary? Are you there?

Dead silence. There has to be a way to reach her. I ponder the idea for a good hour until I hear Clary's voice.

Jonathan? Is that really you, my love?

Where was her voice coming from? It was so faint like a whisper. I run out of my room to look for her. I search the whole house. Where is she?

Jonathan? It's me. Are you there?

Oh wait. My ring!

Clary?

Jonathan! Finally! Jonathan they put a spell on me, so I can't escape the Institute. What are we going to do?

Just hang in there Clary. I'll promise I'll figure something out. Clary, will you be alone tonight?

Yes! Are you coming to me, Jonathan?

Yes love. I'll see you tonight. Stay safe.

I mentally hang up. I might not understand these rings but damn they are cool!

I feel a grin come across my face. I will finally get to see my Clary.

Jace's POV

"What the hell do you want, Magnus?" I yell, storming into the training room. "Couldn't you see I was in the middle of something!?!"

"Oh right. Young love." Magnus replies sarcastically. "Honestly Jace, you should be thanking me"

"Thanking you?!" I yell outraged

"Yes. I pulled you out of VERY uncomfortable situation for all of us. Now to more important matters. " Magnus gestures for me to take a seat. I sit in the chair closest to him, hands across my chest and slumping. I probably looked like a 7 year old throwing a tantrum but to hell with all of you!

"What is this so-called 'urgent matter' we must speak about?" I ask dryly

"I found a way to break the rune on Clary." Magnus whispers.

I sit straight up, my attention piqued, and lean over to Magnus. We continue our conversation in hushed tones to be sure Clary doesn't here us.

"How do we break it, Magnus?" I ask, hope and desperation lining my question.

"It's quite simple really. True Love, of course"

I sit back into chair and scoff. "Maybe your 800 year old brain is failing you Magnus but I'll refresh it. Jonathan, the hell raiser, put a love rune on Clary, the girl I can't live without. So true love isn't gonna work here pal. "

I close my eyes and sink into my chair. I see her face. Clary. She's with someone. Jonathan. My eyes snap back open. I can feel myself full with hatred and disgust.

"Well it's going to work. Do you remember the stories about true love's kiss?" Magnus inquires. I nod slowly.

"Well what's the one thing all shadowhunters know? All the stories are true. So why can't this one be true?"

I begin to argue with Magnus about how incredibly stupid him and his theory is but he had a point.

"Okay fair point. But just as you saw out there, I'm no longer Clary's true love. So how am I supposed to fix that?" I ask pleadingly

"You have two options. I can make her forget everything about you and Jonathan, so you can win her back the old fashion way. Or I can get the Silent Brothers to.... umm.... Do some work on her. It's your choice Jace. But know that each choice can fail either way. " Magnus states

Make her forget me and Jonathan? I could do that! But Jonathan would have clean slate for everything he ever did. No he doesn't deserve a reset button. But to give Clary to the Silent Brothers so they can "fix her". I don't know which ones worse.

"Can I ask the rest of the group on their opinion? It might be better if they here the choices to. Oh and your opinion matters to Magnus." I plead. Magnus and I begin to walk back into the Library when I hear a crash. It sounds like it came from Clary's room. Oh no.

Whoa guys! What's going on up in Clary's room? Haha thank you guys so much for the reads and votes it really means a lot to me(: so what did you guys think about the chapter?
