Ginny folded some of Teddy's clothes and was just about to put them in his dresser when she heard a strange ringing sound.
"What is that?" she wondered aloud, tilting her head. The sound went off again, and she followed it around the house to her and Harry's room. She walked over to the nightstand and saw it was Harry's weird Muggle device he used to talk to his aunt and uncle sometimes. Without thinking, she grabbed the small device and flipped it open like she'd seen her boyfriend do and spoke into it.
"Hello?"
"Ginny?" came a familiar voice. "Why are you using Harry's cell phone? Where is he?"
"Well hello to you too, Hermione," Ginny replied jokingly. "He went to go see Ron and left his cell thing here. I heard it from Teddy's room and thought I'd answer for him. Is something wrong?"
She heard her best friend's shaky breathing and felt her own heart sink.
"Lucius...he died. Just an hour ago. Draco was able to talk to him before he passed."
"How's he holding up?" Ginny asked, not bothering to say "I'm sorry for your loss." She'd hated how everyone said that to her after Fred was killed.
"He's alright. I think part of him is relieved, actually. Lucius had been sick for a long time, I think Draco feels good that his father's no longer in pain."
Ginny knew her friend well enough to sense she was hiding something else.
"Hermione, what happened? And don't bother brushing it off as nothing, I can tell when you're not telling me something."
"I talked to him." Hermione said abruptly, causing Ginny's eyes to widen.
"You talked to Lucius Malfoy? Bloody hell. How did that go?"
"Pretty well, actually. He was very...thankful. Told me he was glad I was with Draco."
"That's good," Ginny continued. "Why do you sound upset?"
"Because, Gin," Hermione sighed. "Lucius Malfoy wasn't just some random man. He was one of the people who always made a point to insult me and my parents, and he's the reason Draco hated me when we were in school. It's strange that a man who once belittled me suddenly is grateful. It's all messing with my head."
Ginny fell silent, knowing nothing she said would make her friend feel better. It was one of those things you just have to get off your chest.
"People are strange that way, you know? Like Malfoy—no one ever expected him to become such a kind person. I don't think he expected it ever. But, Hermione, he changed for the better. Some people change for the worse."
"Yeah, you said it perfectly. I guess I'm a bit shaken from talking to Lucius. I better go keep Draco some company—I'll come visit soon! Send Teddy and Harry my love!"
"Of course! The boy made me made of steel but he's very soft around you- go comfort him! Bye, Hermione!"
There was a clicking noise, followed by silence. Ginny closed the phone and placed it back on the dresser, staring at it in amazement.
"I wonder if Harry can buy me one of those for my next birthday," she mused.

With her lungs feeling constricted, Narcissa arrived at the Treatment Center. Just through those double doors was her husband. Her dying, stubborn husband.
She hadn't felt this nervous in a long time. After taking a number of deep breaths, she entered the main sitting area, avoiding the eyes of the other patients.
