London was as dull and damp as you could remember. It had been months since you had returned to your so called home. But now you stayed with relatives whom you didn't get along well with. But as dire as things seemed you still had one positive thing, your fiancée.

He was off in Australia now working to save his beloved creatures. Soon, when he came home to you with his quirky case full of creatures you would wed and you hoped you could live happily ever after.

Walking down the same streets you took every few days to the owl post office not far from the ministry for magic, you saw two men speaking in hushed voices beside the tall brick building of a flower shop.

One of the men looked far too familiar and made you uneasy. You remembered him as the man who revoked your position you had worked so hard for during so many years.

Without as much as a second glance to the men you broke into a jog and tried to hurry off to send Poppy's letter.

With a loud crack of magic a far too familiar male voice rang through your ears. "Avada Kedavra!"

You turned on your heel and locked eyes with a crazed looking man. There was no mistake, it was Grindelwald and behind him in the shadows of the alley stood a clean looking man in a long charcoal coat.

"Miss me?" Lake asked with a wide grin. In his hand sat the jeweled wand you knew. It was your wand that was clutched in his firm gloved grasp.

"You lied to me!" you spat.

"I did no such thing. Your sister is safe, you are alive and so am I. What did I lie about?"

"I thought I could trust you."

"Well, guess you're wrong but as a parting gift you can have this back." His grin faltered and from deep within his eyes pain and loss echoed. He threw the wand in your direction and let himself be ushered back into the alley.

You caught the wand and as you ran your fingers over the polished grain of the ancient branch you struggled for breath.

Looking over to the alley the dead man layed just out of sight from the mostly deserted street.

You broke into a run and left as quickly as you had come. You dropped off your post and busied yourself with your daily errands and regular, non murder involved life.

When you passed any alley along  the way you took your newly returned wand in hand. They may very well come back you couldn't be sure.

You managed to find a way back to your relative's house after a long time of random turns and unnecessary road crossings.

You opened the door gently and slipped in without bringing any unnecessary attention to yourself. Inside you kicked off your shoes and light sweater you wore for the morning chill of early summer.

A fluttering noice came from the kitchen and the screech of the kettle echoed through empty house. and also the living room. You made your way through the hall towards the kitchen.

You gasped in shock and dropped your bag to the floor.

"Newt!?" you nearly yelled.

The figure standing in front of the stove flinched before turning to face you. He quickly walked towards you and wrapped you in a tight hug.

"How've you been, darling?" he asked as he pulled away but left his hands resting on your arms gently.

"Fairly well, I suppose." you replied with a shrug.

"Um hello? Where's my hug?"

You and Newt both turned and looked to Poppy who stood in all her thirteen year old glory. Her chin jutted out in a fake pout and her hands on her hips. Her bright smile and laugh was almost as if she had never left.

"Artemis is in the living room by the way and so is Ocean."

"Lake's little sister? Is she staying with us?"

"Yes and yes. You know Lake isn't dead?"

You nodded in agreement. "Do you want a hug or not?"

Poppy grinned and jumped at you and Newt. You all laughed like a little family and chatted about what had happened in your time apart.

Newt made himself some tea and joined everyone in the living room where you listened to Poppy and Ocean finish each other's sentences while retelling stories from Hogwarts.

"Oh, and I met this Slytherin boy named Tom. He's in second year and doesn't talk to many people but he's really smart." Ocean said while she grinned happily.

"I'm learning healing spells and potions in my free time now since Percy always gets hurts playing quidditch," Poppy said.

She shook her head as if thinking about the boy irritated her some how, and it brought a smile to your face. You had seen the same sort of thing before— it was between you and Newt.

That very annoyance sat beside you and fiddled with the ring on your hand that he held in his. He looked happy, everyone seemed happy.

You leaned your head over on his shoulder and closed your eyes with a sigh.

"Comfortable?" he said with a light laugh.

"Not as comfortable as those beasts in your case. Speaking of when are we moving in together? We are engaged after all."

The freckled man rolled his eyes and shoved you playfully. "Don't tell me your jealous. I love you most after all," he said.

"You're so bloody cute! Just kiss already before I puke!" Poppy sneered jokingly.

And you did. Just like you would on your perfect wedding day.

The end! 🌈

So what did you think of the ending? I hope it wrapped up enough but also left some loose ends to make it more interesting. Sorry to those of you who ship Newt and Tina but I personally hate the x reader stories that end with the insert not getting the guy.

Cheers! Thanks for reading until the end love you lots!♥
