"Aubrie! Aubrie, get up! We have to go!" Someone shouts.

"I swear to god, Autumn, if you make me get up now, I'm going to kill you," I mumble sleepily.

"Yeah, okay. Well, I'm not Autumn. I'm Nicole. Remember me? Your best friend? Also, we need you in the emergency room! We are going to be late for our shifts!" shouts Nicole.

"Crap!" I say jumping out of bed and throwing on some clothes.

"Come on, let's go!" Nicole yells.

"You'd think after three months of being back; I'd know it wasn't Autumn annoying me to get up. Instead, it is you!" I say as we get outside and start running to the make-shift hospital.

"Ha, if it weren't for me you'd probably be late every day! I swear every time you come back, it takes longer for you to realize that you're here, not there. Hopefully, you'll get used to getting up soon, or I'll have to find someone to replace my job after I leave in two months!" Nicole says.

"Don't remind me! What am I going to do in the month without you? I'm going to miss you so much! And I know it always takes me forever to adjust back and forth! But the even more shocking part is that my sister's mate lets her wake me up every morning and do it even though I always do something to get her back for it!" I say as we enter the building.

Before Nicole can say anything back, we get into the emergency room and see that it is hectic. There are people everywhere. All the doctors and nurses are tending to someone in need, and it looks like we are short staffed. The day shift staff is still here, even though the night shift started five minutes ago. Regularly, they are all leaving right now, to get some well-deserved sleep. Nicole and I are part of the night shift today, and we're late.

I never remember an ER this busy, not even in my previous time overseas. "What the hell happened?" I think. I mean since everyone came out as werewolves and other creatures, weapons designed to hurt them were created, but no gun I've ever seen was able to take these many people down.

"Doctor White, we need you over here!" Says nurse Riley, knocking me out of my thoughts. Nicole gives me a look saying 'we'll talk later,' as I start going towards Riley and she then goes to help someone else.

"Coming! Move! Get out of the way, please!" I say as I try to maneuver myself over there as I put on a calm countenance.

"Who is this?" I ask as I look at my patient.

"I don't know who he is. He's a John Doe. He has two GSW. One to his right shoulder and one in his abdomen. Looks to be a hybrid of some kind. I'm thinking a vampire and werewolf hybrid." Riley says while applying pressure to his abdomen.

"Okay, we need an OR right now, so we can stop the bleeding. Let's go." I say.

"Come on, people, we need to get through!" I shout as I try to make my way around everybody.

"Do you guys need me to ask it louder? If you are not critical, find somewhere to sit down, so the critical patients can get moved to where they need to be so that we can treat you guys faster!" I shout again. People then start to notice me making my way through and follow my orders as we rush to the OR.

Halfway through the surgery, someone barges into the OR room.

"What happened!" I hear someone say behind me.

"I don't know, sir. All I know is that he got shot in the abdomen and the arm. I'm fixing up the abdomen right now, as you can tell." I reply to him not turning around to see who it is.

"Tell me what happened." He demands.

"Once again, sir, I don't know and interrogating me or anyone else in this room isn't going to help you. I'm going to have to ask for you to leave, for you aren't solving any problems. Instead, you are creating one, and that's not going to help me work." I reply to him calmly.

"You can't throw me out! You don't have the authority to!" He says back harshly.

"I'm sorry, you are in my OR, aren't you? Yeah, that's right, you are and guess who's in charge in this room? That's right, me. I can care less what rank you are in the army, or if you are some powerful werewolf. Now leave." I reply once again calmly while stitching up my patient.

"Trust me; You're going to regret that," he says leaving.

"So who was that?" I ask the other doctors in the room that were facing him. None of them replied. They just gave me worried glances.
