A Strange Reader

Chapter - 28

"Sure. Not at all a problem. But can I know why am I not supposed to reveal your name?" I asked.

"Uh, just that there are some security issues. I'll be waiting for you", she answered.

"Yeah, thanks! I'll be there within sometime."

As I reached, a girl asked me,"Heyya, Bella?"

"Yup. Jennifer?" I asked.

"Yeah! Here are your wallet and watch."

"Thanks a lot.
Actually this watch is my favourite one, gifted by my dad.
And whenever I miss him, I look more and more to it."

"Oh, that's so lovely. Where's your dad?"

"He... Is actually attending some out-station conference."

"Even my dad is away from me and I miss him the most!" She told.

"Auh, but where's he?" I asked and as I turned towards my right, my eyesight fell on mom.

"Hey, my mom's here. I think we must leave now, as you do not want to be introduced. And my mom wouldn't leave you, until she extracts all the possible information from you", I told Estelle.

"Okay, take care. See you soon", she told.

"Why is mom here? What if she already saw me?" I was scared, as I lied to her that I was going to the library.

As I tried to get closer to mom, she got into a cab and left.
Jennifer disappeared too, though it was just a matter of few seconds.

As I reached home, asked mom, "Mom, why were you at the James Street?"

"Bella, are you alright? Mom didn't even step out of house", Tim told me.

"How can that be? I saw her there and as I went close to her, she got into a cab."

I could notice some strange expressions on mom's face.
If it really wasn't her, then why isn't she answering?

It seemed as if she was lost in her thoughts.
I shook her and asked, "Mom? You there?"
She took a jerk and answered,"N.. No! Not at all! How can I be at two places? I can't,  isn't it?"

"But mom..."
She cut me off saying, "Bella, why are you straining yourself on some silly matters? Go take rest, honey. You aren't well."

I didn't understand the reason behind this strange behaviour of mom.
