Chapter 11: I Can Fix Her

It's become lonely without Gertrude around, the group has become less dense and we don't have many people in the group. I had a theory of where she might've went due to the description Tank had given me in class about Gertrude's "new look". From just hearing it I could tell where she went in seconds. She went to the emo side, a deadly side where they draw you in when you're at your weakest. They put their music in your brain, even though it's just Dance! Gavin! Dance!, it's still evil. Soon you turn into one of them, wearing all black with no other spec of bright color on your body. It just sends chills down my spine just having a slight thought about it. Even the hallway they call their domain is creepy.

I shook my head, ridding the dreadful thought. I'll think about it more later, I thought. I walked into the chemistry lab walking to my table and placing my binder down. Cory quickly came in the room and up to me. He seemed exhausted. Well he does have gym the period before this, I reminded myself.

"Hey Cory, what's up?" I said calmly trying to seem like I didn't notice him sweating heavily. "Did you see?" He asked quickly. His words were fast and a little hard to understand. "See....what exactly?" I said raising a brow. He sat down next to me and breathed.

"Alright so you know how we haven't seen Gertrude in like..forever right?" He asked. "Well it's only been a few days but yeah."

"Well I just saw her and she said she has a boyfriend now. She said his name's Sebastian and for some reason she was wearing all black and purple. Which was odd for her," he said quickly. I nodded in response. So she really has gone emo huh?

"Well that's good that she's found someone, but...we have to get her back Cory," I said immediately. He raised a brow in confusion. "We have to wha-" The bell rang wildly signaling the beginning of class.

"Alright class! Take these instructions and we will be conducting a chemical reaction experiment today!" Said Ms. Squishy. "I'll tell you later," I whispered to Cory. He nodded and we collected our papers.

"Today class you and your partner will conduct an experiment using fire. You both will decide on two colors from the chart given. Use the appropriate chemical and mix the flame with as much as you want with that chemical but not a lot. So have fun! Just don't burn yourselves, your partner or any lab materials that aren't meant for burning! Go ahead!" Ms. Squishy stated.

A student raised their hand. "But aren't you gonna show us how to do it?" asked the girl. "It's common sense on how to do that darling. If you don't have common sense then I can't help you."

**Later**

"Alright so we all know the plan, correct?" I asked. Cory, and Tank nodded. "And Simon's being a butt for not helping, as usual." I mumbled to myself.

"Well anyway should we be going?" Cory asked. I nodded.

Traveling down the hallway we went. The dark hallway. You could feel the sad vibe from the main foyer it was that bad. A cold air took our souls and stabbed them with darkness. This was new for me and I already hated it. We arrived at the door and I raised my hand to knock. It shook, nervous as I was, I was still determined to help my friend. And I wouldn't stop until I fixed her.
