Leaks About FORECAST's Upcoming Single and "Music Trophy" Shocks Korea... But Does It Change Anything?
May 3rd 2017

New information from various sources have leaked information about FORECAST's planned upcoming single. Sources state that R41N, 5UN, and DYSTRAY worked together to create this song which is rumored to be a sad, slow song.

The comeback, which will likely only be a single-song single (as opposed to an additional instrumental or second song), is predicted to be released mid-May.

Along with the information of their likely comeback, music program Music Trophy's CEO has officially spoken out about the rumors of them not allowing FORECAST to perform their song on the program for promotions. He said the following in an official statement: "Due to the severity of scandals, Music Trophy is socially obligated to prevent performers with any such controversial issues to perform in order to secure both them and the public from any further problems in the community. This is not only for FORECAST Kaito's situation and has been enforced other times."

The final statement, which some may find surprising, is not entirely false. Music Trophy has banned other artists from performing on their show even when they won top-chart awards and were present for the broadcasting of the announcement. A widely known example is when popular rapper AJK could not perform his song "YOUNG" due to the rumor that the song was an attack on the female singer and rapper Min Young-ae. (Due to lines such as "You think you're all up there, flip 'em off since you're young, hey; You got three buddies but you're actually just a 0 (pronounced in Korean as "young"), hey;")

The next day when AJK refuted the stated rumors and even had a co-interview with Min Young-ae the day after, Music Trophy still did not let him perform the song until two weeks after the interview. AJK had shown dislike towards the music program for the week with a lack of promotions and is known for rarely performing on the program except during the first week of any promotions of his. One of the less known incidents that many netizens are bringing to the public's attention is the banning of boy group KINGS when the rumor of homosexuality was created by their title song "Real Man", written by their leader Jun, where he sang the lyrics: "Does a real man fit standards? If real men get women then maybe I'm not one."

Jun, the group, nor the company said anything to refute the rumors and they did not promote on Music Trophy during promotions due to the ban. Although two months later they asked to perform their new song on the program, they were again refused. Many fans argued that the lyrics simply stated that no women liked him. Jun and KINGS never made any extremely remarks about the situation, however, and many fans were upset by their lack of anger towards the discriminatory music program. There are no reports of them every attempting to perform on Music Trophy since the incident.

FORECAST fans are afraid the same will happen to the rookie group and hinder their careers. In KINGS' instance, they had 2 years of promotion and fame built up before stopping their promotions on Music Trophy and simply continuing on other programs. FORECAST has currently only promoted their debut song, "Rainy Day" on Music Trophy and Spotlight!

The less-known fact that has been brought into many's attention is that C.S artists often focus on these two music programs for promotions due to the close relationship of C.S Entertainment CEO Kim Seojun and the CEOs of both the stated programs. Many wonder how C.S CEO Kim Seojun will react to the situation, as well as whether FORECAST will expand to promoting on other music shows in order to continue the growth of their careers. Music program BOP WEEKLY's CEO has already shown her disagreeing opinion with Music Trophy's possible ban statement that if Kaito's rumors are not cleared up by the comeback, they will be unable to perform on Music Trophy's show. Some wonder if this was an attempt to bring the talented group FORECAST to perform on a music program they often don't go on, or whether it was a personal remark by the CEO.
