Chapter 8 - Fears and Assurance

"If ever your future girlfriend doesn't like me and she asks you to choose between me and her, who would you choose?"

After I asked the question, everyone was so quiet. All eyes were on Edward since he is still so quiet. I decided to break the silence and said, "Twin?"

That seemed to have brought him back to reality. "Wow twin, I wasn't expecting that question. To be honest, I do not know the answer because I can't imagine why you wouldn't get along with anyone." he said

"Well, say, she becomes jealous of our friendship or... we just don't get along because we started off wrong. You know? Those kind of situations" I responded

"Well, May, you are my twin, my bestfriend, my partner in crime since the beginning of summer. Now, we go to the same school, see each other nearly everyday. I swear, I have spent more time with you than my parents for the passed three years. So, I know I can never imagine a life without you beside me. I will choose you and I'll just choose a better girlfriend. Someone who would get along with you, because if they do not get along with my twin, then there is no point having them in my life" he finished

"Really? You would choose your bestfriend over your girlfriend?  Perhaps, you are just saying that because you are actually not in the situation yet" Christian said

"Maybe you're right Christian. But right now, what I know is that my friendship with Maymay is one of the things I treasure most in my life. She has always been there for me. She helped me through the darkest parts of my life and no one can replace that" he answered and then looked at me.

"Remember how I voted for you twin? I will always vote for you. " he told me

"Wow, now I am speechless. Thanks twin." I said and then I saw Heaven looking at Edward and I. She seemed to be not happy with Edward's response. The rest of our classmates are all smiling because they all know how close Edward and I are. They see us everyday on how silly we act towards each other.

We played some more games such as twister, cards against humanity, and more. After a while, everyone started to feel tired and headed to bed. The boys are sharing one room and the girls in another room. I am truly impress with Kisses's house. Each bedroom have king size beds and a washroom. Aside from that, there is a pull out queen size bed so we are more than cozy in our rooms.

I decided to be at the end of the bed and Kisses is beside me. After that, I really cannot see the order of the sleeping arrangement anymore. We all said our goodnight to each other. We left the light in the washroom on so it is not that dark in the room. Everyone seemed to be sleeping already. Everyone except me. Surely I do feel tired, but my brain is just too awake to fall asleep.

I decided to get up and fetch some milk. Warm milk always help whenever I cannot sleep. I headed downstairs and went to the kitchen. I grabbed a glass of milk and went back upstairs, I can see the pool outside so I decided to get some fresh air first.

I sat on the bench by the pool and started to drink my milk. As soon as I finished, I set my glass on the table and then I started to think. I am thinking of all the changes that are happening to me lately. My thoughts are so deep that I didn't realize that Kisses is approaching me already.

"Can't sleep Maymay?" she asked

"Oh, why are you there? I could've sworn you were already asleep. Did I wake you up when I moved?" I asked her

She sat beside me and said, "No, I am really a light sleeper. When I turned around and the spot beside me felt empty, I woke up. I saw that the light here is on so I came here."

"Oh, I don't know why I'm having difficulty in sleeping. My thoughts are just too loud, I guess" I said

"Care to share?" she offered
