Candy and I were currently getting ready for our night out. Our schedules finally aligned and we both had the same night off which of course meant we were going out dancing. Candy was a huge fan of dancing, which meant I had to be as well, since she would never go alone.

"I am so excited for tonight!" Candy grins as she leans over the bathroom sink trying to get a better look at herself through the mirror.

"I know, you've been telling me all week." I chuckled as I slip on my favorite pair of white dancing heels to match my Polk a dot dress.

"Oh my gosh you look so pretty!" Candy grinned seeing me, "when are you going to let me borrow those shoes?" She pouted.

"Never!" I laugh, "you remember what happened last time?" I asked.

She blushed thinking about how she'd scraped them against the concrete, leaving a white gash on my favorite black heels, "you're right."

"Yes, I am." I laughed standing and basically dragging her out of the bathroom, "you look gorgeous, let's go before it gets late."

Candice grinned brightly, "I just had an idea! Why don't you invite Bucky? You've been spending time with him lately."

"I've only seen him a few times this week okay? And anyways he's working tonight, he told me this morning." I shrug.

"Oh." She pouts, "well then hopefully you find a good partner."

I chuckle and lock up the apartment as we made our way downstairs towards the cab.

During the ride I looked out the window wishing Bucky could magically be there tonight so he could be my dance partner, I was always a little socially awkward when it came to strangers.

Candy tugged on my arm when the taxi stopped in front of the bar which supposedly had some of the best dancers in Brooklyn. We paid the cab and stood outside the entrance which was glowing with smoke, lights, laughter, music and booze.

"This will be exciting." She grinned tugging me inside and towards the bar. Once we're inside my eyes widen at the sight. There's men and women sweating on the dance floor as they dance the jitterbug and swing. The laugher is flowing through the room showing that everyone was having a good time.

I looked over at candy amazed, "they're such good dancers, I couldn't possibly do... that." I motion to all the flipping and tossing.

She laughs, "it's quite easy trust me! Once you get the flow it'll just-"

"What flow?" I raised a brow.

She laughed, "yes exactly-" Before she could continue an attractive man walked over to her and offered her a dance, she looked over at me and I smiled. She grinned accepting his over and making her way over to the dance floor, I don't think I'm seeing her for the rest of the night.

I turned to the bartender and asked for a drink to which he quickly served, I thanked him and looked at the dance floor watching Candy have the time of her life.

While I leaned on the bar I heard an oddly familiar voice, "Hiya, can I get a scotch on the rocks? Thank you."

I grinned spinning quicker than I though humanly possible, "Bucky?"

He turned his head looking down , "Liv? What are you doin' at a joint like this?"

"Oh candy and I heard this was a good place for dancing so here we are." I smiled, "I thought you worked today?" I furrowed my brows.

Before he could reply, a pretty girl walked up to Bucky, "what's taking so long Buck?" She grinned.

I felt my heart drop, along with my smile. I knew he didn't owe me anything but it still stung that he was here with someone else. I forced a smile back on my face, "sorry, I was keeping him busy. He's all yours." I grabbed my drink and rushed over to the other side of the room, trying to put as much space between us as possible.

I don't know why I expected Bucky not to talk to other girls, let alone go dancing with one, I was a fool to think that. I shook my head and looked back at the dance floor surprised to see Bucky there dancing with, whatever her name is, not just regular dancing but flipping and twisting, the whole shebang. I swirled my drink in my cup before bringing it up to my lips and drinking what was left and slamming the cup back down.

"Ma'am?" I turned to see an attractive young man standing there with his hand extended out.  "Would you like to dance?" He smiled.

I almost felt like saying no but I didn't want to let Bucky ruin my night so I nodded and took his hand. He grinned leading me out to the half crowded dance floor, on the way I saw Steve and waved at him. He grinned waving back before I disappeared into the dance floor.

"Now I have to warn ya, I can't do any of ...that." I motioned to the flipping and the throwing.

He chuckled taking my hands in his and pulling me to his chest, "That's no problem, I'll go easy on ya."

I smiled and nodded as the next song started and we started bouncing on the heels of our feet and using our momentum to swing around the dance floor. "You're a natural." He smiled.

"Well I never said I couldn't dance, I just said I wasn't familiar with that style." I teased making him laugh.

I looked behind him and Bucky was facing us but Steve was holding his arm and whispering something to Bucky who only rolled his eyes and walked back over to his date. I looked away and smiled back at Zack, my dance partner.

He smiled doing a few more turns as we continued dancing for a few song, we laughed loudly each time one of us messed up or lost the beat. Eventually we stopped and made our way to the table taking a quick break.

I glanced at bucky who was already glaring at us, once he saw that I had caught him he turned and said something to Steve before rushing out of the bar, his date probably left or something.

After I excused myself from Zack I went to find Candy. She was sitting at the bar having a drink. "Hey." I walked up to her.

"Hey! I saw you dancing! You were looking good!" She grinned.

I shrugged, "is it okay if we go home?" I asked.

"Why? Did something happen?" She frowned.

"It's stupid." I shook my head looking down, "you know what, stay. I'll take a cab." I turn to walk away.

"Nope, I'm coming with you." She stood up hooking her arm with mine, "and you're going to tell me exactly why you're upset." And I did, I poured my heart out to her during the cab ride home, explaining how I was dumb to think Bucky liked me in any way. She comforted me and promised to help me get over this stupid crush I had.
