Chapter 21: Karai's Responsible?

The others were still trying to figure out a way to help April.

"Any luck, Donatello? Anything?" Kirby asked.

Donnie shook his head sadly. Then Splinter limped into the lab with a scroll in his hand.

"Sensei, what are you doing? You should still be resting," Leo replied.

"Not when April is in danger. Not when I have this. An ancient poison-draining mantra," Splinter responded.

That's when Jamie came in, panting like crazy.

"Jamie! Where's Raph, Mikey, and Casey?" Leo asked.

"Raph made me go get help. We were attacked by white snakes, similar to the ones that bit April. The car wrecked and we were bitten, but while coming back, I used the healing hands that Splinter showed us," Jamie explained.

"Well done, Jamie. But we still must find the others," Splinter remarked.

That's when Leo's phone rang. He answered it, thinking it was his brothers.

"Raph? Where are you guys? Raph?" he asked.

"Hello, Leonardo. Your brothers are right here with me," Karai said on the other line.

"Karai? Is that you?" Leo responded.

"Though they don't appear to be in the best of health. Unfortunately, Raphael's girlfriend isn't anywhere to be found, so she must be with you. I'm afraid that if you, Jamie, and Donatello don't come soon, then Raphael, Michelangelo, and Casey Jones will all expire. Come to the old abandoned Greenwich street station. And bring Donatello and Jamie with you. I'll be waiting," Karai explained then hung up.

"Karai? Karai!" Leo said into the phone then looked at Jamie.

"Karai's behind this? But if she left to protect us, then why is she poisoning us now?" Jamie asked, confused.

"I think I've got a bad feeling why," Leo said.

Before they could continue, they heard Mr. O'Neil getting more upset at Donnie.

"She's not getting any better! I brought her here because I thought you could save her!" Kirby replied.

"Calm down, you two. We have another problem," Leo told them.

"There is no other problem! April is the only thing you two should be worried about!" Kirby shouted.

"I'm doing my best, Mr. O'Neil," Donnie assured.

"Silence! All of you! If I can focus, I may be able to get the poison out of her system," Splinter explained.

"Kirby, stay here. Help Master Splinter with whatever he needs. Come on, Donnie. You too, Jamie. You're with me," Leo said.

Jamie and Donnie got their weapons and started heading for the exit to see what Karai wanted.
