Chapter 4

Weeks after, Andrew slowly felt the tough job that Daddy Edward was talking about. His intent to fill up his LDEA and his training as company's president has been eating up a lot of his time. From every lunch break with Gara it slowly becomes twice a week, then once a week and the worst is none at all. Gara was never bother on this at first but she is slowly missing Andrew.

"Just got home, I'm sorry for not taking you home today. Akala ko saglit lang yung meeting with the client" Andrew's message to Gara at around ten in the evening.

"It's alright. I understand. I just waited for your message until seven. Umuwi na lang ako when I did not received any before eight. Pahinga ka na, you have a long day today. Goodnight" Gara's reply to Andrew

A few minutes later Gara's phone vibrates and she sees Andrew's name flashing on the screen. She took a deep breath before she answers her phone.

"Andrew" she said

"Nagagalit ka ba? Sorry na, hindi ko naman expected na ganun katagal yung meeting. Late na rin kasing dumating yung kausap namin" Andrew said from the other line apologizing.

"Hindi naman ako nagagalit. Upset lang ako kasi sana nag-text ka man lang na hindi mo na ako maihahatid pauwi. Medyo maulan kasi kaya mahirap sumakay" Gara explained

"Sana nag-grab ka na lang para hindi ka nahirapang sumakay" Andrew said

"Ok naman na ako, kahit commute lang. Nahirapan lang talaga ako kasi ang daming pasahero. Tulog ka na, I know pagod ka" Gara said

"Teka lang, hindi na nga tayo nagkita buong araw tapos bababaan mo pa ako. Wag ka namang magalit please. Hindi na mauulit promise" Andrew pleaded

"Hindi nga ako galit, upset lang, kasi nga umasa ako ng kahit isang text galing sa yo. But apparently, nakalimutan mong may naghihintay sa yo" Gara explained again

"Hindi ko naman nakalimutan, hindi lang talaga ako makaalis while Tito Robert is discussing. It's very impolite naman if I excuse myself in the middle of our discussion" Andrew explained himself

"Ok na nga Andrew, wag na nating pag-usapan" Gara said

"Galit ka pa rin kasi eh, Andrew pa rin ang tawag mo sa akin" Andrew said

"Pahinga na tayo Love, we both had a long day today. O pwede na ba yun?" Gara said

"Babawi ako sa yo bukas promise, wala namang schedule na meeting tomorrow, pinapatapos lang ni Tito Robert yung design na naka-assign sa akin. I'll work on it tonight, para free ako by lunch time tomorrow. I'm sorry na Love" Andrew said

"Alright, I'll see you tomorrow. Goodnight" Gara said

"I love you" Andrew said. "Me too" Gara replied before she hangs up the phone

"Hindi mo sinabi kay Andrew na nasa ospital ang Lola mo?" Winona asked. She decided to sleepover because she does not want her friend to stay alone in their house. Gara's parents will be staying overnight in the hospital to attend to her grandmother who was rushed to the hospital on that day due to severe stomach pain.

"Hindi ko pa nasabi, kasi hindi naman kami nagkita kanina. Sobrang busy na sya eh" Gara replied

"Sana man lang binanggit mo kanina habang kausap mo sya" Winona said

"Pagod na pagod sya bff, halos ngayon nga lang nakauwi" Gara replied "Bukas ko na lang sasabihin"

"Eh bakit ka malungkot? Dahil ba yan sa Lola mo o dahil yan kay Andrew" Winona asked

"Ok lang naman ako, nakakapagod lang yung mag-isip ng mga design para dun sa bagong project na hawak ng team ni Anton" Gara said

"Sige sabi mo eh. Basta wag mong kakalimutan na nandito lang ako palagi, willing akong makinig kung kelan ka ready na sabihin kung anuman yang tutoong dahilan ng lungkot mo" Winona said

"Thanks bff. Ok lang talaga ako, promise" Gara gave assurance to Winona

"Matulog na tayo at kailangan mo pang magbukas ng hardware store nyo, bago ka pumasok bukas" Winona said

"Salamat bff, sobrang na-appreciate ko talaga itong pag-sama mo sa akin" Gara said

"Luka-luka hindi ako nakukuha sa pasalamat lang. Dapat ikaw ang bumili ng graduation dress ko, i-promise mo bff" Winona said

"Oo ba, matagal pa naman yun eh" Gara replied laughing though it does not reaches her eyes and Winona saw that.

"Pareho talaga kayo ng boyfriend mo eh, mapanghusga" Winona said

"Tutoo naman eh. Di ba may pagnanasa ka dun sa modern physics prof mo? Kaya ng lagi mong ibinabagsak eh para paulit-ulit mo syang maging prof" Gara said

"Hoy, FYI meron din syang pag-nanasa sa akin" Winona said

"Alam mo tama ka, matulog na tayo at baka kung saan pa mapunta ang usapan natin na 'to" Gara said

They were both in bed when Winona suddenly asked "Bff, mahal na mahal mo si Andrew no"

"Yes" Gara replied. "Eh papano kung mawalan na sya ng oras sa yo, mahal mo pa rin?" Winona asked

"Oo naman, hindi naman yun lang ang sukatan ng pagmamahal ko" Gara said "Why did you asked"

"Honestly, hindi ko alam bakit ko tinanong. Seryoso ako, hindi ko talaga alam bakit ko biglang naitanong. Hayaan mo na nga lang bff, epekto lang siguro nung midterm exam kanina" Winona said just to cut the conversation.

"Andrew and I love each other, kahit anong mangyari yung pagmamahal na yon ang kakapitan namin" Gara declared before she dozed off

Deep inside Winona, she is beginning to be worried about Gara. She knows how dependent her friend is to her boyfriend. Who can blame her? Between the two Andrew is more clingy and Gara is already used to this behavior of her boyfriend, it somewhat gave her assurance that about Andrew's feeling for her.

Winona know that there will always be challenges in every relationship, because she believes that those challenges would make the relationship stronger, on the other hand it could also break a relationship even if the two lovers nurtures it for the longest time. Winona chooses to shrug off her thoughts about her fears on the Andrew and Gara's relationship. She knows that the two will surpass all struggles that will come in to their relationship because their love for each other is pure and true.
