I frantically began to shake my head, taking steps back until my behind was against the corner.

I crouched down, kneeling as I clutched onto a handful of my hair. I closed my eyes and begged to myself, "I can't take anymore hallucinations." I shouted out, in regards to my brain.

The figure was still active, he stepped to me slowly, with caution. As his feet came to a stop beside me, I repeated in my head: do not look up. Do not look up.

My heart was beating so incredibly fast, I'm almost sure he heard it.

I jumped once his hand gripped my jaw, pulling my head up to meet his gaze.

"Danica," the sound of my name from his husky, deep voice sent a wave of shudder throughout my body. "I'm here. You're not imagining me."

Instantly, I felt the certainty in his voice gentle and warm.

His beautiful eyes were enthralling, like a sparkling emerald. Dashes of gold pierced through the green like spokes around a wheel.

It really was him, and not an apparition in any means. Though, I still had that chill in my spine, I couldn't help but be skeptical.

Though in that moment, my soul felt replenished and whole.

The feeling was a little odd, my heart instantly began to beat hard like it once did before. The blood within my veins rushed quickly throughout my body. I must've been revived. I was sure of it.

The sweet scent sprung off Eric, his enticing cologne swiftly made it's way into my lungs. My heart felt restored and refilled. It baffled me that I one person drastically altered my emotions.

Being the skeptic I was, I began to fret as soon as I wondered how long I had left to be alongside Eric. It was ridiculous to act skeptical at a moment like this, though I couldn't help but feel paranoid that he'd leave me once again.

Sadly, my eyes had been overflowing with tears so I was unable to study his gorgeous features that I admired to gaze at.

His protective aura held me close as I rested my head against his bulky chest. After taking in a few breaths, I began to calm myself. In the midst of it all, he pulled me in so tight against his chest, it was difficult to breathe.

I lifted my gaze to meet his eyes and couldn't help but stare. There hadn't been a single thing wrong in his amazing complexion. Every detail had been so catastrophic and perfect. His eyes are what pulled me in, they truly were the most beautiful I've ever seen.

I hoped and pleaded that this lovely moment would last an eternity, and it if didn't, I refused to exist. I wouldn't last another second without him, he was all I ever needed.

His fingertips brushed under my eyes, "You look very tired, Danica."

I'll admit it to myself, I was exhausted. But there was no way I'd risk missing another wonderful minute with him. And so, I continued to fight against my body's demands.

I kept quiet, content with his presence and caressing body heat. After twenty minutes of nestling together, Eric murmured, "Don't be afraid to sleep, Danica."

"No, I'm fine. I'm not tired." I lied, but I couldn't bear the thought of him being gone when I'd wake up.

"You're lying to me," Eric interrupted, "Please just get some rest."
