A couple days later
Christmas came and went and Don and Kay where finally back at home. Of coarse Darnell was sad that they were now gone and her house was empty again. She missed them but she knew that they couldn't live with her forever. She was just glad that she was able to spend time with them that she did.
With today being New Year's Eve she headed over to Naree salon to let Naree do something with her head. Ever since Don and Kaydence left she was sulking in her bed watching movies and eating ice cream. She decided to get up and get herself together.
"What's up mamas."
"Hey" Darnell answered dryly plopping down in one of the chairs Naree had in her office.
"What wrong with you?" Naree looked up from her paperwork eying Darnell.
Darnell sighed. "Don and Kaydence left this morning." She frowned.
"Aw. It's okay Darnell. You'll be back to work in a couple of days. You'll see them everyday."
"Yeah your right."
"I know I am. But since you in this little funk. We gone do something to that head and go out tonight. You know Don is have an New Years Eve party at the club tonight."
"Yeah"
Naree knew it was something more bothering Darnell, but she wasn't gonna press the issue. At the moment she just wanted her friend to feel better and what better way to feel good is to look good.
She got Darnell up and took her out on the salon floor and got her together. She pressed her hair out and gave her spiral curls. She sent her to Lacy to get her eye lashes and eyebrows popping and to Michelle to get her nails done.
After 3 hours Darnell felt better about herself and the situation. She was now ready to have some fun bringing in the new year with her best friend.

After checking over each part of the club I was now in my office facetiming Ashley to check up on Kay. Since I was having this big event at the club tonight Ashley was watching her.
"Alright Kay baby daddy love you."
"Bye daddy."
"Bye baby girl."
When we left Darnell's house this morning I could tell she was sad. She tried telling me she understood that we couldn't be with her forever but I think if she could she would. Even Kaydence cried for a good 30 minutes after we left.
I knew she would be the most effected since she has spent the last month and a half with Darnell. They've gotten so close and I really appreciated Darnell for stepping in and helping me when she didn't have to.
Since we've been getting to know each other, we've gotten closer and I've been opening up to her. She's the only girl I've done that with so everything's new to me.
A knock at my door broke me out of my train of thought. One of my managers James came in and told me that I had to go down and sign off for some packages.
I got up and went downstairs. When I got there I could see a woman with her back turned to me. I walked up tapping her getting her attention.
"Hi Mr. Taylor?"
"Yup"
When she turned around I couldn't even lie shawty was bad. I wasn't expecting her to be delivering packages but a job is a job I guess.
She was a bad little Latina. Long black silk hair and I could tell she had a thick frame under her uniform.
