"Lycanthropes of the Riversong pack, I have a few important things to discuss." Dads loud voice rang around the large room. The gathered werewolves sat silently, awaiting the details. The alpha didn't disappoint them.
"First of all, our neighbouring lycanthrope pack, the Darkstream pack, are imposing another threat on our territory."
I groaned quietly. The Darkstream pack alpha, Matthium, had been after our territory for a number of months now. Ruthless and cunning, Alpha Matthium was desperate to get our lush green forest after his own territory had been drowned when the stream flooded.
"He wants our territory," Dad continued. "And he wants it delivered to him with a gold ribbon and a card saying 'You win.' Metaphorically speaking, of course. We will not give him our forest, nor our fields, nor our river.
"Our land is our own and any one of you who sees a member of the Darkstream pack is to renew the scent markers in that area, then report it to me immediately."
Howls and yowls and growls broke out through the pack room, echoing my thoughts.
If Alpha Matthium wants our territory, he'll have to fight us for every last leaf.
