Winter's POV

  Wait, what?

"Yes." George leaned against the frame. "Tonight goes to show how bad situations can get without the mark. You need to be marked in the next couple of days. This is the first among many attacks, so we need to be as prepared as possible Birdy." He said with a sigh. Mic looked up at me with a soft smile playing on his lips.

   "Where's Lincoln?" Kaine asked quietly.

"I've spoken to him about this already. He's downstairs with Todd, Landon, Monty, and some of Alpha's I hold close to this family." Great, more testosterone.

"I'm finished. You shouldn't need to shower for the next day or so." Mic stood up, mentioning me already showering before he finished. I was clean, and scrubbed raw of the touch from Jensen. Those men..

"Winter." George's voice brought me from thought. "You need to stay with two people at all times. In public view." His voice seemed strained. "We won't let you go again." He turned and left at his words. Anger bubbled in me, and when I went to follow, Mic grabbed my hand.

"Give him time Winter." Mic sighed. "It's been a rough 16 years without you." Mic brushed my hair from my face. "I'm glad you're back, even for a short time." He kissed my forehead before leaving.

Kaine came behind me and hugged me.

"Kitten, I think we should just sleep." His words made me laugh.

"I want to see Mr.Kormack." He sighed at my words, but didn't stop me.

As we made our way downstairs, he was always closer than a foot from me. I suppose it would be a good time to mark each other, but I'm not sure how I feel doing it under this roof. It's not home. When we entered the larger study, that's where they all were. Monty attacked me in a hug as soon as I stepped through the door. I hugged him gently, and he sighed as he pulled away.

"Montgomery." Monty stiffened, and looked down. "We still have things to speak about." The voice was coming from some...man. He glanced at me disapprovingly before looking to George. Monty shook his head at me when I clenched my jaw. I peered over to Landon who also shook his head. Taking a breath, I turned to the doors and closed them, nodding to the twin guards who nodded back.

"What are we doing now?" Kaine asked gently, almost a warning to me.
