My conscious slowly began working.

I was in one of those states that your awake, though your not moving or really making your presence known.

My eye lids were heavy, like they were tapped shut preventing me from opening them.

"When will she wake up?" I heard a soft voice say, breaking in between some of the words.

I recognized that voice.

"We're not sure. She can wake up anytime," a different voice spoke then the sound of a door closing was heard.

I felt a presence in the room, yet it didn't bother me.

Trying to move, I felt pain spread through the wound in my shoulder and across my back.

I was stronger than this.

I can do it!

Using all my might left in me, though most of my body was telling me to let go and surrender to the darkness, I didn't listen.

Slowly, I pushed myself up, forcing my eyes to open as my hand grabbed my forehead.

The bright light made me wince as the white walls seemed to reflect the sunlight right at me.

My squinted eyes traveled over the white tile walls and light pink curtains to see that I was laying in a hospital bed with a ugly green and white hospital gown.

Though what caught my attention was the small figure with their head stuffed in their hands and they seemed to be in another world.

"Carol?" I asked, my voice hoarse and dry.

Her head snapped up, her eyes coated with tears.

Her eyes widened before she jumped out of her chair and bear hugged me.

To say it hurt would be a large understatement.

"Um....Carol.....back....pain...," I choked out though I did give her a awkward pat on her back.

She quickly pulled away blushing, as she pushed some pillows behind my back so I could stay propped up.

I mumbled a thank you as she quickly handed me the water bottle next to the bed.

Smiling a bit, I tried to open the cap and failed miserably.

This got me mad. I couldn't open a cap?

Carol quickly took the bottle and opened it smiling slightly as she handed it back to me.

I gulped down about 3/4 of the bottle before sighing and slowing closing my eyes as I felt the pain slowly fade.

"What happen?" I asked my voice still croaking, my eyes closed.

"Um....you got knocked out during hardcore capture the flag......and umm havebeeninacomaforthepastfourweeks," she said the last part quickly.

My eyes snapped open, widening, "I've been in a coma for four weeks?"

Disbelief was clear in my tone.

Carol slowly nodded, as I let out a sigh of frustration.

There was a hint of whining in it, which I'm sure showed that I was very mature.

"Seriously? Only I would get knocked out in capture the flag and be in a coma for four weeks!"

Carol showed a sad smile, her teary eyes were now gone.
