FRENCH RIVIERA

THE MUSIC POUNDED THROUGHOUT the club, the bass causing vibrations on both the floor and the bodies of the masses of people present. Humans and vampires alike gathered, it was a party like no other— and the vampires were thriving off of the fresh human blood.

Kol and Rebekah were in their element, loving the freedom that came with being far away from New Orleans and all the drama that came with both that particular city and their family. Rhea and Kol had arrived just a few days before and she had let him run wild and do his thing, not wanting him to grow bored of the mundane lifestyle they had been living as of late. She knew Kol and she knew he needed to release some of his wild side every now and then, even if he didn't want to admit it.

Rhea had slipped away to the bathroom, Kol was feeding on a human and Rebekah had just laid her eyes on a handsome looking man. The two Mikaelson's were having fun, something rare to see— Rhea loved to see them both truly happy.

She spent a few moments in the toilet, sorting out her slightly knotted hair and reapplying some lipstick when she felt a warmth on her arm. Precisely, her wrist.

"What the-" She started, but upon inspection her stomach flipped, the warmth was coming from her bracelet. The one identical to the one she had given Hope— that only meant one thing.

Someone was in trouble.

It was only seconds after that shouts of panic sounded in the club, the music cutting out too. Rhea ran out of the bathroom, concern for both Rebekah and Kol flooding her body.

Once she saw them, she let out a breath of relief. They appeared to be safe and unharmed, the same, however, couldn't be said about the dozens of desiccated vampires strewn all over the club.

Looking between Rhea and Kol, Rebekah frantically said, "I haven't seen vampires die like this since..." She trailed off.

"Since you were killed." Rhea confirmed for Rebekah, looking to Kol.

Kol had bent down to inspect the body, looking up, he said, "And my entire sire line died with me."

A look of horror crossed each of their faces before Rebekah breathed out, "Elijah."

"That's not it." Rhea told them, lifting her wrist to show them the bracelet that was still glowing, "Something's terribly wrong. Hope is calling out to me."

Nothing more was said, as they stood surrounded by bodies and a heavy cloud of grief beginning to surround them.
