The sedan prepared for Mingxia Jie was a wornout wooden sedan, she laughed in her heart at how stingy her Uncle was. But it didn't matter, she was going to use it to her advantage. The sedans prepared for ce fei's were much more luxerious than this, but it was great to use for what she needed. As she was about to leave the whole thing collapsed. The servants were smirking as this watched the eldest miss in between a hard place and rock.

-"Let's just walk."

-"Walk? Alright."

And the servants were baffled beyond belief. Who would think a wangfei would walk.

The commoners watching the procession looked with their noses at the new wangfei's long procession of dowry. They held contemptuous gazes in their eyes as they stared at the wealth in front of them and scorned the materialistic woman, wondering who was going to be the lucky official. Out of the blue, while the people were busy mocking the wangfei, some one pointed out to the red dot in the middle. Whispers broke out:

-"It that the wangfei?"

-"Why is she walking?"

-"Is she really wealthy? Then why walking?"

Mingxia Jie smiled under the veil as she listened closely to the chatter around her. But they still couldn't help but suck in a breath as they saw the eldest Miss of the General's household. All the rumours they heard vanished. Wasn't the eldest Miss ugly, stupid and timid? Although they could not see her face, the woman they saw was nothing like the rumours, she carried a noble air that only gods could carry. Not even the emperor had this air. They all had an unconscious behaviour to bow to this woman. Out of the silence little quick footsteps could be heard, a little girl ran towards Mingxia Jie.

The little girl tottered over carrying a red camellia in her hands, she looked up at Mingxia Jie and raised the flower up to her. Light cheerful laughter rang through the street; this wangfei was elegant in every way possible; even her laugh was elegant. But what Mingxia Jie did next made all her rumours and first impressions invert completely.

She got on her knee and lowered her head to the little girl. Everyone was astonished! What was this!? A noble lowering her head to a commoner! This was unreal! The little girl was taken aback but placed the red camellia in Mingxia Jie's hair. The little girl spoke:

-"My name is He'er. You are a really pretty wangfei; even if I can't see your face. I put the camilla in your hair, it looks really pretty there."

-"Thank you He'er, would you let me give you something in return?"

-This lowly servant wouldn't dare wangfei"

Mingxia Jie smiled under her veil at the honesty of this He'er. Mingxia Jie pulled out a handkerchief made out of red silk and had a white lotus imprinted on it, she wiped He'ers face and spoke:

--"This handkerchief would suit you perfectly, would it not? Your name does mean Lotus flower"

He'er was entranced by Mingxia Jie, she wanted to speak up but was cut off by Mingxia Jie. Then she got tears in her eyes, ran up to Mingxia Jie and hugged her while she hid her tears. The crowd was in shock, they felt pity for this little girl who touched a noble, she would surely be sentenced to death. Even Lan'er and Lifen'er were in shock. But...nothing happened. Mingxia Jie's voice rang out like a soft stream:
