ivy parks was a volunteer- a test subject, and an orphan. ivy's mother died giving birth to her and her father took his own life due to it. she had never blamed herself, for she had no control over it as she was just an infant, and she never felt sad for them. she knew others may have found this strange, so she always avoided the questions about how she was doing, and in turn she grew accustomed to keeping her feelings to herself.
melanie parks, ivy's mother had always dreamed of being able to step outside- out of mount weather without a suit on, and well, ivy did the same. so when ivy found out after months of doing her own research about the harvest project, she wasn't afraid of a little (well a lot) of radiation. once making sure there was someone that could see her if they glanced her way she stepped out onto the radiation soaked earth.
earth was beautiful, and unfortunately the last thing she saw before she passed out from pain was a man's strained face dragging her back into mount weather.
ivy hoped she had been exposed to enough radiation to require- well, whatever they were going to do to fix her, and hopefully they were going to fix her and not let her die.
OR
in which a girl purposely walks out of the shelter that mount weather provides onto an earth that is soaked with radiation- not with the intention to die, but to live.
basically from then on she gets her transplant from one of the 100 (including the bone marrow or whatever she needs to be able to walk outside without dying) then once she has recovered she can either overhear clarke's conversation of wanting to escape and then follow her when she goes through with her plan, or ivy can be let out out by cage to test if she the transplant worked, then instead of going back inside she runs off and eventually meets raven.
i wouldn't make ivy friends with the 100 seeing as one of them had to give up their life for hers, but if you do want to- do not tell the 100 how ivy is able to walk around, maybe say she was from floukru (it'll explain why she doesn't like violence)
you can decide ivy's personality on what i have written here. i'm not really fussed, but just be sure not to make her open up to anyone about her feelings quickly because she has taught herself not to.
