what I remember
is the way your blue
lips moved in
perfect harmony
against my
cracked ones ,
ever so slowly ,
as if they were
both scared
of breaking each
other , yet couldn't
pull away .
It's weird how
memories work ,for
I thought my mind
will make me
think only of how
your footsteps
echoed in the
back of my head ,
before they
drifted into
nihility , but
instead I find
myself recalling the
night our bodies
swayed at the
melody of the wind
while our feet
flirted like two
secret lovers on a
midnight date .
the unspoken
words of regret
that turned to
sweet kisses
on my neck
before they left
your mouth ,
are carved on
my flesh , holding
me hostage ,
and stopping
my lungs
from inhaling the
fresh air of a new
dawn .
the hidden
mysteries that
you used to bury
in the fissures
of your bronze
skin , are now
whispers in the
shape of your
voice , ones
that push me
to the edge
of breaking
down .
darling , you're
so merciless ,
for by letting go
of my hand , you
forced me to
hold on tight on
everything .
