When Darrel returned to Buckingham Palace, she found Robert fuming in the entrance.
"Papa, what are you doing here?" Darrel wondered.
"I got a call from Rosamund, and it appears that you did not come here just to see your friend Sebastian," Robert informed.
"Papa, I am sorry. I didn't want to hurt your feelings."
    "So you lied?"
"I didn't want you to overreact."
Robert took a deep breath as the queen came down the stairs.
"Robert, what on earth are you doing here?" She demanded.
"I have every right to visit my daughter," Robert snapped.
"She is my daughter, and this is my house."
"Technically, it belongs to your husband."
   The Queen glared at him.
"May I have a word with you in private?" The Queen requested.
    "Very well," Robert sighed.

Robert and the Queen walked into the drawing room.
"What is your plan?" The Queen demanded.
"What are you talking about?" Robert replied.
"Do you plan to poison Elizabeth against us?"
"Not exactly. I'm sure a few more minutes with you, and she'll believe it herself."
"I am not pleased with this situation either Robert. I had to tell my husband about the affair, and the entire world knows! I'm not trying to steal her away from you, if this was an ideal world, Edward would be the heir."
"Yet I'm sure you love punishing me."
"I admit, I despise you. But I value my reputation more."
    Robert rolled his eyes.
"To make matters simple, Elizabeth is our heiress, she will be the queen, and I need her here," the Queen explained.
    "Don't be ridiculous! Robert cried.
"How else will she learn to be Queen?"
"She will not be living here with you!"
"Why not? She is my daughter."
"No she's not! I have raised her for the past fourteen years! And she's not even my biological daughter!"
"I am grateful. But I must take it from here."
"You will never be Darrel's mother."
Robert stormed out of the room, where Darrel was waiting.

"What was that about Papa?" Darrel inquired.
"Nothing," Robert sighed, "come home with me, my darling."
    "Gladly."
Robert put an arm around his daughter and they went outside. The Queen was watching from the doorway of the drawing room and scowled.
