Kallus and Kanan carried Ezra and Sabine into their bedroom.
Lying them on their beds, they stepped back.
"You made the right choice Kanan" Kallus said.
"If you hadn't suggested it to me to adopt them this never would have happened" Kanan told him.
"Do you regret the decision?"
"Not in the slightest" Kanan smiled.
The two stood in silence.
"Now where's Scales? I haven't seen him in a while" Kanan said looking round the room.
"Who?"
"Scales. Ezra's pet" Kanan replied
"He's been here for a few weeks and you already gave him a pet?" Kallus inquired.
"No. Scales came with him" Kanan answered.
"From the orphanage? What sort of animal?"
Kanan looked at Kallus then smiled.
"Look at your shoulder and I think you'll find out."
Kallus's attention immediately snapped to his arm where Scales was sitting, looking at him carefully.
"Kanan. Kanan, get this thing off me" Kallus said.
"Don't worry. He's not poisoness" Kanan said standing.
"I don't care. You know I have an intense fair of snakes" Kallus said.
"How could I forget? I once gave you a toy snake for your birthday when we were six and you screamed like a girl" Kanan smirked.
"Kanan!"
"Alright alright. Don't soil yourself" Kanan said.
He held out a hand and Scales slid on to it.
"See? He's fine" Kanan told him.
"Yeah well. You know I don't like snakes" Kallus said.
Kanan rolled his eyes with a smile and put his hand beside Ezra.
Scales slithered off his hand and wrapped himself up by Ezra's face.
"Let's leave them. They've had a big day" Kanan said squeezing his brother's shoulder who followed him out the door.
