Chapter 23

Barty reached the side of my bed, his thumb caressed my cheek and then lightly grazed a over a bruise I had on my forehead before sitting down on the edge of my bed.

"I didn't think you'd come" I said quietly

Barty frowned

"You think I'd just let that rat hurt you without blinking an eye?" He said with a hint of anger in his voice

I shook my head

"No, no of course not" I said as I reached out to grab his hand

His eyes darted to mine quickly

"I'm going to kill him" he growled standing up quickly

"No you aren't" I said holding his hand firmly

Barty frowned

Before he could reply the doors opened wide and Voldemort walked in

"My lord" Barty said in surprise

"Barty, Mysti" he nodded

"What brings you here My lord?" I asked

"I've been looking for Barty, we have things to discuss" he said his eyes shifting to Barty's

Barty nodded and swiftly followed Voldemort out of the hospital wing

My eyes opened slowly as I woke to see the familiar surroundings of the Hogwarts hospital wing

"About time" a voice said from the end of my bed

"Shut up!" I grinned before grabbing my pillow and throwing it at Draco

"Hey relax I come in peace" he said holding out a chocolate frog

"Thank god! Do you know how bad the food is in here?" I exclaimed

"I have a feeling your going to tell me" Draco retorted

I rolled my eyes

"So...I heard you had some visitors" Draco stated

"Please don't start" I sighed

"Is this a thing now? Will I see you having breakfast with him in the great hall every morning?" Draco smirked

"Of course not, he was only here for a day"

Draco frowned

"Dear, dear cousin you seem to be misinformed"

"What are you talking about?" I asked as I began to open my chocolate frog

"I'm talking about your death eater fiancé being our new Dark arts teacher"

"Are you serious?" I said bringing my eyes to meet his

"Trust me everyone saw Amycus get demoted to Snapes assistant" he said trying to hold in a laugh

"Snapes assistant!!" I laughed "this is almost better than Christmas"

"You're an everyday hero Mysti, how will the community of Hogwarts ever repay you for your generosity" Draco said overdramatically

"Well don't thank me yet, for all we know Barty could be worse" I said simply

"Hating on the Hubby already?"

"We aren't married and please don't call him that again" I said "I mean unless you want me to suggest some great nicknames to Pansy for you?"

"Okay, okay truce" Draco grinned
