"You sure you don't want it?" Justin smirked.
"I told you, I'm not hungry for that," I rolled my eyes at him and turned away.
"I promise it's yummy and you feel so good after," he wrapped his arms around my waist from behind.
"No thanks."
"C'mon..."
"Nope."
"Baby..."
"Justin, I said I don't want pancakes. You know I'm not a breakfast kinda girl. I just want coffee," I tried to shove out from his arms. He slid his arms to my sides and started to tickle me. I squealed and bent over trying to deny him.
"Stop!" I squeaked and darted out from his arms to the other side of the central kitchen island in the guest cabin.
"Aww, fine. But you're missing out. My pancake-making skills are next level," he pouted and stabbed a fork into a pancake and tried to shove the whole thing in his mouth in an act of defiant sulking.
I couldn't help but giggle. More than half of the pancake couldn't fit in his mouth and syrup started to dribble down his chin, "baby, you're making a mess. Everything's gonna get all sticky."
Justin gulped down and let the excess pancake piece drop from his mouth to the plate. His lips and chin were coated with sticky syrup. A grin slowly crept on his face and he gradually stepped around the island towards me.
"Wh-what are you doing?" I took a step back.
"Oh, nothing," he said and came towards me, one step at a time, light-footed.
"Justin..."
He sprung forward and gripped my arms gently so I couldn't step back. He started kissing my cheeks incessantly and sloppily. I squealed as I felt the sticky substance imprint against my cheeks.
"Justin! Gross!" I tried to lean back, "couldn't you have wiped the syrup off first?" I groaned and squeezed my eyes shut.
"That defeats the point, babe," he licked his lips, "now you're even sweeter."
"Wow. Corny, much?" I giggled and reached behind me for a wet cloth.
"You like it," he raised his eyebrow at me.
"I like you," I wiped my cheek with the cloth and then dabbed the cloth against his chin to clean off the syrup.
"I like you too," he smiled, "I love you."
"I love you more," I smiled up at him.
"Impossible," he feigned surprise.
"Possible."
Justin held my chin and lifted it upward. He leaned in and kissed me softly.
"Happy Fourth of July," he smiled at me.
"I would say it back but you're Canadian," I wrapped my arms around his neck.
"So... you excited for today?" He wet his lips and clamped down on his bottom lip.
