"TELL ME, Lorelei. Why do we always get into trouble?" Jamie asked, sighing.
"To tell you honestly, I've been asking that myself for the past few months," I shrugged.
Nagising kaming dalawa sa isang kwarto, nakatali ang mga kamay sa likuran pati na ang mga paa. We found ourselves locked in a room that has the interior of a wooden cabin. Wala masyadong gamit sa loob maliban sa mesa na nasa gitna ng kwarto.
This scenario reminded me of what happened weeks ago, back in the abandoned building where Cedric and his goons brought us. That was a tragic memory, one that I would opt to delete from my mind.
The biggest mystery right now: Who are the two men in black who brought us here? Obviously they are not real security detail of the Ravena family. How did they know about Alistair's condition? At bakit kami ang napili nilang dalhin dito?
"Is Moriarty behind this abduction?" nababahalang tanong ni Jamie. "Inutusan niya ba ang dalawang lalaki kanina na dukutin tayo at dalhin dito?"
I shook my head slowly. "I don't see any reason for him to do this. Someone else might be interested in us though."
"Eh? Sinasabi mo bang posibleng kidnap for ransom ito?" Jamie's eyes blinked a few times, maintaining a surprised look on her face. "Teka, wala naman silang makukuha ni isang kusing sa akin!"
Hindi ko maiwasang isipin na may kinalaman ang papa ko rito. No, he isn't the one who ordered us to be abducted. Pero posibleng ang taong nag-utos na ipapatay siya noong birthday celebration niya ang utak sa likod nito.
But something doesn't make sense. If I, Walter Rios' daughter, was the target, bakit isinama pa nila si Jamie? Wala akong nakikitang rason para idamay nila ang kasama ko ngayon.
So who's the mastermind behind this plot? And what is the motive?

"TULONG! TULONG!" sigaw ni Jamie. Sa sobrang lakas ng boses niya, gusto kong takpan ang mga tenga, but I can't, thanks to my tied hands. "May tao ba sa labas? Tulungan n'yo kami!"
Duda akong makakatulong ang pagsisigaw niya. Those men were confident that our cries for help would be futile kaya hindi na sila nag-abalang takpan ang mga bibig namin. We must be somewhere far from other people's reach.
"We can't expect anyone to help us in this situation," sabi ko. "We must escape on our own."
"Pero paano? Nakatali ang mga kamay at paa natin!" tanong niya.
"Baka pwede tayong makahanap ng matalim na bagay na pwedeng pang-cut sa tape."
