It couldn't be a date it just possibly couldn't.
Because if it was a date that means I admitted that I liked him. And I can't do that.

It didn't end very well the last time I liked a guy and confessed it. Now the cats out the bag. I've never officially had a boyfriend because relationships never work out. And frankly I'm not strong enough for another guy to reject me.
Yes, Donald is cute and I love the way his smile brightens my day.

But I don't think I could even look at him that way he's a friend and should probably stay a friend. I hear things about him. Like bad things that he sleeps around and got a girl Mary Jane pregnant. Me out out of all people should know that rumors and lies spread faster than good news but maybe just maybe it could be right.

When I got into the house I sort of knew that my grandparents would be asking questions but they shouldn't sweat me about it I did get home before 9:00 after all.

I took off my jacket that I had worn tonight, after the photo shoot because of the chilly fall weather and placed it on the stand near our door.

My Grandmother came out of her room talking on the house phone with God knows who. She was always up late at night watching soap operas like as the world turns or general hospital. So my best bet is to turn my lights down real low and shut the door and lock it if I wanted some shut eye.

Tiptoeing pass the foyer to get to my room she caught me trying to get me to get on the phone.

I whispered lowly 'no thank you' but from the look on her face I knew she was going to scold me if I didn't come here.

"Why ya getting here so late?" She asked me. On the inside I rolled my eyes. I would not dare do that in front of her because she would drag me through the town and back.

"I got here before 9:00 grandma." I mouthed she held the phone against her chest about to tell me something.
"Talk to your cousin right quick I need to go to the bathroom."

"Which one?" "Does it really matter? It's family." She threw the phone to me like she was some kind of acrobat and walked swiftly to the bathroom down the hall.

"Hello?" I said through speaker I had to repeat my self three times before I got an response.
"Cecelia? Is that you girl?" I mocked her voice in my head. It was no one other than the infamous Rochelle.

"Yeah it's me." I answered her in my monotone voice. "Well hows my little cousin doing? You ready for graduation? Ooo do you got a boyfriend?"

This is the part that I hate. I wouldn't mind her asking questions if I knew she was a person with good intentions but since I know her it's agitating.

"I'm doing fine Ro, and yes I'm definitely ready for graduation."
"Why you gotta answer like that? I'm guessing I already know about the boyfriend situation."

"Ha you probably do." Seeing that she did sleep with Rueben before he went off to college. He wasn't my boyfriend but she knew I had feelings for him yet she made a move on him.

"Oh you aren't over that, I completely understand but I mean you know how irresistible I am compared to you." God knows I'm trying my hardest to be cordial with her because she's family but every time she crosses the line.
"Why'd you have to go there Ro? Like really?"
