Their Voices Start To Fade As We Step Out. We Sigh Looking At Each Other. We Run Back To Our Apartment. We Finally Reach Our Apartment To See The Door Kicked Open. We Look At Each Other Then Back At The Door. I Push It Open A Little More To See It’s Completely Trashed. I Peck Around The Corner To See It Looks Empty. I Look Back One Last Time To See Someone Walking Into Our Place. Braelynn Sees It Too & We Quickly Get In. She Pulls Out Of The Parking Lot & Drives The Back Way So They Can’t See Us. She Takes The Food Happily & We Both Eat Silently. We Hear Our Flight Being Called About 10 Minutes Later. We Grab Our Stuff & Throw Away Our Trash. We Walk To Our Gate After Going Through Airplane Security. We Hand The Lady Our Tickets & Head On The Plane. We Look For Our Seats & I Realize Were Not Sitting Next To Each Other. I’m In The Row In Front Of Her. We Sit In Our Seats As The Flight Attendent Start To Talk. & I Can Already Tell This Is Gonna Be A Long Ride…
