"Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations."

Peter got up from the bleachers heavily, watching as the Avengers repositioned themselves. Spidey had taken out three - Falcon, War Machine and Scarlet Witch - which had the opposite affect he had wanted. Now Loki seemed to have better control, resulting in him being able to control special abilities like that of Ant-Man and Captain America.

So... I gave him the advantage. And I'm supposed to be smart... Peter dodged an arrow from Hawkeye, webbing the mans wrists together. He no longer had reactor fluid mixed with his webbing, so at least hitting someone didn't hurt. It also didn't snap them out of control, however.

"Come on guys, I know you never really knew me but..." Peter couldn't believe he had tried to reason with the Avengers, and was cut off by Natasha kicking him hard in the solar plexis. Peter dodged another blow from her, only to get body checked by War Machine. What was worse, was Natasha and Rhodey didn't engage his spidey senses - they had fought on the same team last time. However, his senses were starting to get the picture again since he had stopped trusting them a while ago.

"Oh for...!" Peter huffed as he spotted Ant-Man running towards him, literally the size of an ant. "I really don't have time for this!" Spidey whined as he tried to flick Ant-Man off his arm. Quickly the tiny figure had flipped him, giving Nat time to kick him in the stomach.

It was safe to say Peter was getting the crap kicked out of him.

Finally slapping Ant-Man off, Spiderman jumped to Scarlet Witch's side and started shaking her. "Wake up! I need some help here!" He insisted, War Machine shooting him in the back. He smashed into a tree and landed hard on his stomach. He was started to see stars, and his body ached with a hundred bruises. And the fight was far from over yet.

Ned was watching in horror as Peter was hit around like Spider-punching bag. He had to do something, he realized. Then he spotted Peter's discarded web cartrage. He knew the combination to Pete's locker, which had the arc reactor in it. Now we're talking.

oOo

Loki growled under his breath as he felt Scarlet Witch, Falcon, and Captain America slip from his control. He slammed his fist into the wall of the compound and spun to Iron Man and Vision - his last two pawns. "Its time to finally get this started." Loki announced, a wicked grin spreading across his unreasonabley-attractive features.

oOo

Finally, Spiderman managed to knock Hawkeye out - he could only hope that negated Loki's control of him. Now it was only Ant-Man, Black Widow and War Machine.

Wait, scratch that.

Spidey watched in horror as Iron Man, Vision and Loki himself came into view on the horizon. "Well that's just great." Peter hissed under his breath, unconsciously dodging a mini-kick from Ant-Man that probably would've hurt as much as one of Natasha's kicks.

"Spiderman. I have underestimated you're skills." Loki announced as he landed. "What, no hello? How are you?" Peter joked, ducking under a blast from War Machine. Loki shook his head with a smirk. "I'm afraid I have no time to greet a bug who is going to be squashed soon enough."

"How many times do I have to tell you people; spider's are not bugs! They're... wait, no!" Peter ran to stop Vision as he moved to corrupt the unconscious Avengers whom Peter had just freed. Unfortunately, Iron Man's blast hit him directly in the chest with a pain erupting in his head as his body hit the ground.

"I worked really hard to free those guys." Peter groaned, pushing himself onto all fours and glancing up groggily. "Soon everyone will see that resisting me is futile."

"Oh man, you're not going to turn earth into some borg society, are you?"

"You make no sense to me." Loki spat, moving a hand and raising up the fallen Avengers. Spiderman was just about to accept that he was hella doomed, when he heard his best friend's voice who he would be indebted to for the rest of his life.

"Hey, Spiderman!" Ned called, running across the field. "Ned!" Spiderman jumped to his feet faster than Loki could react and snatched Ned, swinging both of them to the roof of the school. "Ned, you have to stay far aw..."

"Here!" Ned cut him off and pressed a web cartrage into his hand. "I managed to modify it so you won't get shocked, and the electricity won't jam the web fluid."

"You mean..." Spidey's eyes widened. "I mean, I just gave you a fighting chance." Ned gave him a thumbs up. "Also, please don't die." He told his friend, before running for the stairs. Peter called a thank you to him and switched the cartrages.

Now he would show Loki what an arachnid could do.

Peter shot a web and swung back to the field. "Returning isn't exactly wise." Loki chuckled, and Peter hoped the asgardian prince could see his smirk under the mask. "I've never claimed to be wise. Or smart." Peter chuckled. Loki raised his arms with a menacing expression and the Avengers began to attack.

Well that got hectic, fast. LOL
