"val! hi! how are you? we haven't seen you in a while! come in, come in!" katherine smiles and i reply back with one.

"i'm doing well. how are you?" i sit down on the sofa and she sits across from me.

"everything is good here. david! come down! val is here to say hello!" she shouts and i chuckle.

in time he is down sitting on the same couch as katherine and they both smile at me.

"so, i - uh - came here to talk to you guys."

"is everything alright? is jack okay?" david asks.

"jack is fine, no worries! it's just that - i needed to tell you guys."

"oh sweetie, never hesitate to tell us anything."

i rubbed my hands up and down on my jeans seeing that they were becoming sweaty.

"but promise me that you won't tell jack - he can't know. at least not now." i say and katherine raises a brow at me but nods.

"we promise." david says lowly.

i sit there thinking about how they may react and i suck in a breath.

"i'm pregnant..." i say and look at the floor.
