we sat down,
started throwing tiny pebbles
into the water just for fun.
him and i, we had a little competition.
it was to see who's pebble had
the most amount of bounces.
it was a silly game, i'll admit,
but for some reason spending
this time with him
made me happier.
since it was nighttime,
it had gotten colder.
i found myself shivering
in the thin lace white dress
i had on, but suddenly
i felt his jacket on my shoulders.
i turned to the side, quickly
thanking him, flustered.
then i realized something big
had just happened.
all these months i had spent
with him,
months of us bonding,
laughing together,
making memories:
was there something more to it?
why do i feel different when i'm
around him?
why do i stumble on my sentences,
why do i become shy,
why does he make me
feel this way?
"taehyung, i have something to
tell you," i announced.
his eyes widened.
i tucked the excess hair
falling out of my braid
behind my ear.
"you remember when we first met, right?
you probably do.
i was really mean to you;
i never treated you with respect.
and i regret that.
because over the time i spent with you,
you taught me more things than
i could have ever had for you."
i paused, feeling his eyes
staring intently into mine.
heaving out a heavy sigh,
i continued on.
it was too late to take my words back.
"you...you mean a lot to me,
do you know that?
so don't do anything stupid,
like get yourself hurt
or push yourself too much.
i care for you. i'm serious.
whenever i'm with you,
i feel secure and fulfilled.
i like being with you,
i like you—!"
i stopped, reflecting
on the three words that had
happened to fly past.
i covered my mouth,
feeling my body heat up.
"i'm sorry, i didn't mean to—"
i didn't stop voluntarily this time,
because as soon as he closes in
for a soft kiss,
i found myself at a loss
for words.
he cups my face
as i close my eyes,
taking in the touch of his
lips on mine.
+ :0 it happened!!
