I just wanted Janice right now.
"can you give me a minute" I asked Tyler and he gave me a quick nod before stepping out of the car. I called Janice and thank goodness she picked at the first ring.
"What's up mamacita" she greeted, she sounded so happy I didn't want to ruin her day with my problem but I just wanted to talk to her so bad. "Janny" I said and my voice broke. I started crying as I thought of it again. "Oh my goodness, Kay what's wrong? What happened? Where are you? " she asked in one breath.
"Janny I need you" I cried louder this time. "Kay I'm not a freaking seer, where are you? Do I need to kill a Bitch? " she asked and I knew she was angry now. "I'm at Tyler's" I responded. "I'll be right there. Please stop crying OK" she begged and hung up.
In a few minutes a saw a car racing towards Tyler's house. It was like another episode of Fast and furious. I was now outside sitting on the porch. Tyler went in to fix us some coffee "Kayla are you OK?" Janice yelled as she ran towards me. She was only in her lounge clothes and I was so moved at show of care, what would I do without her.
I stood up and ran towards her. "I hate him Janny" I cried as I held her. "Hate who" she asked confused. "What did Tyler do to you" she yelled and marched towards Tyler who had two cups of coffee in his hands. "No it's not Tyler" I corrected before she could punch him. "It's Jamie" I added and looked down. Janice was back beside me in a flash. "What happened Kay, tell me " she pleaded. I pulled her towards the chair and sat with her. "Jamie hit me" I finally had the courage to tell her.
"that son of a Bitch" Janice fumed and got up abruptly. "I will kill that bastard" she threatened and pulled out her phone.
"Who are you calling? " I asked cautiously. "The police" she responded and put the phone to her ear. I did not want it to escalate into a legal issue so I lunged to her, grabbed her phone and ended the call. "No, I don't want the police to be involved please" I begged.
"Unbelievable Kayla, un freaking believable, he hit you. He doesn't deserve your consideration, he needs to pay for this" she yelled at me. "He has, Tyler beat the shit out of him and I'm breaking up with him. Please don't get the police involved" I tried to reason with her.
"You're not seeing that bastard again Kay, I will not hesitate to get a restraining order against him and so help me God if I see that asshole I will give a second round of beating" she fummed. Janice was beyond angry, she seemed angrier than I was.
"Thank you Janny" I thanked her and hugged her. "No need to thank me, I haven't done anything yet" she said and held me tighter. "Remind me never to mess with you Janice " Tyler commented completely ruining the moment. Janice started blushing and I just smiled at her. She was so preoccupied with me she didn't have time to ogle over her crush.
Janice had always been the bold one. She had a zero tolerance for bullshit and tended to handle everything legally or with her fist or sometimes paintball gun. Her parents were big time lawyers and yes she was way richer than I was. She had a group of lawyers at her beck and call and yes we both wanted to be lawyers. I've never been too keen on medicine even if my mom wants me to a doctor so bad.
"Sorry I almost punched you" Janice apologized shyly. Now wasn't the time to get all girly. I almost laughed at how embarrassed she was. "it's OK I get it. Wanna hang out or " Tyler asked. "I just want to go home" I said and he nodded."I'll drop her off" Janice added. "Sure we'll hang out some other time " he said before we said goodbye and left.

Janice was true to her words, when Jamie tried to talk to me in school Janice attacked him and gave him a black eye. I successfully avoided him in school after that day. I just couldn't bear to see him. It's been a month and I haven't seen Jamie and I was extremely thankful for that. Tyler started his treatment with my mom and he couldn't be happier. We became friends and he's been spending time with Janice a lot. She still didn't know about his status and I wanted to tell her but it wasn't in my place to. I however told her to be careful and she claimed they were just friends.
I was sitting in an empty classroom enjoying the silence until I heard the voice of the person I had been avoiding. "Princess" he called and I just felt my stupid heart tug. I stood up and sped walk to the door but it was stuck, I couldn't open it. "Open the door" I yelled at him. My tears were threatening to spill. Why the hell was I tearing up in front of him. "Baby please listen" he begged and I was thankful he kept his distance. "Just open the damn door" I yelled even louder.
"My love I'm so sorry" he begged as he dropped on his knees. His face looked like he hadn't shaved in a while, he had a major baggage under his eyes and overall he didn't look fine but I didn't care about that. I quickly texted Janice to come get me.
He crawled on his knees towards me but I kept walking back. I did not want him anywhere near me. "Kayla please" he begged as tears fell from his eyes. My heart softened at the sight of his tears but that didn't last long. Janice came busting through the door.
"You piece of shit, I told you to leave her alone didn't i" Janice yelled and flung her bag at Jamie. The bag hit his head but he didn't even budge, he kept looking at me. Janice glared at him and pulled me out.
"I am getting that restraining order" she said leaving no room for argument. I wasn't going to argue either, seeing Jamie left me crippled in fear. I thought he was going to hit me again.
My heart might still yearn for him but I knew better. I wasn't going to leave myself at the mercy of that abusive possessive boy.
