Oh? What's this? Another chapter within a short amount of time? WHAT A FUCKING MIRACLE!
-Pumpkin
The moment you woke up, you found yourself staring at Lukas. His eyes were closed and peaceful. You didn't want to move to disturb his peace, but he woke up anyways. You closed your eyes again, hoping that he didn't see you awake. For minutes, silence was the only thing in the air. You opened an eye at him.
"You're just gonna let me be like this?"
"Yes." He answered.
"Even if it's not a good position to be?"
"Maybe at a point." You snorted and pinched his nose.
"Damn, you're an idiot too." He rolled his eyes as you let his nose go.
You both got up. You found yourselves in the cave with the carved pictures.
"What about the portal thing?" You asked him as you stretched.
"Stable." He answered looking at you intently while you stretched.
He was worried for you and your well-being. He should've known better to keep you safe from things like this, especially from that dragon. He was getting too careless with you and he wants the best for you. Sometimes he feels like he should wrap you around bubble wrap and he knows that would be a bad idea. You'd just end up rolling down a hill popping all those bubbles. That feeling in him was bothering him tok much. As much as he dislikes the feeling, but he'd rather want you not knowing the world he's in. It woukd be unfair, but it would be the only way to keep you safe.
Just a little bit longer. He says to himself daily.
Lukas has no idea what he meant by that. Knowing that if you forget everything, you're no longer in his life. He has to stay away from you like some kind of superhero cliché. It sounds stupid. He never liked cliché even if every little romantic thing you both had were. Now he asks himself why you? Why fall for you and not for someone else instead? Lukas may be attached to a lot of people in secret, but you? You were the most precious person to him. He actually loves someone.
It's not like those one night stands he used to have in his college days. You weren't like those girls who tried to pry into his life as if they knew who he was or understood him. He never had an actual girlfriend, just flings. Times where he thought everything would turn out fine until he remembered what he was. He wanted to run away. He wanted to escape the life he has. Though he still finds himself coming back to that life. And that's where he realized that he belonged there. A life of danger and excitement. He couldn't picture himself as a different person, not even as a journalist. He's a vigilante with a passion he hates and loves.
"Lukas?" Your voice snapped him out of his thoughts. "You okay?"
You stepped closer to him and caressed his cheek. He leaned to the side and held your hand in place feeling the warmth on his cheek. He closed his eyes and just let the feeling sink in. You looked at him worriedly, but you let him be anyways. It was too sweet. You stroke your thumb across his cheek and smiled softly.
"Watcha thinking about?" You asked softly.
"How much I love you." He spoke softer than the usual and opened his eyes slowly. "And how I'm going to grab all the coffee packs on the next convenient store."
You chuckled and stopped with the cute gestures. Everything was fine. For now at least.
"Anyways, how are we gonna get my weapon? Viking style?" You joked.
"Funny because that was the exact same thing I thought we were going to do." He answered.
"What?!"
